Pleeeeease help me I'm panicking. I just changed my Galaxy S7 for another as the screen had cracked. Backed up my old one and did a factory reset for when the courier collected it. Now my new one just has factory settings on and I cant restore anything at all! Cloud says Im using 9.38 GB of 15GB so surely it's all there somewhere but when I click 'restore' in settings it flashes up (really quickly) 'restoring the selected data will delete some data from this device. make sure that your backup data in uptodate' but I'm worried if I backup again it will backup a blank phone as it's a factory reset, if that makes sense (might be a stupid assumption)? Please help, I feel sick that I've lost everything...

Welcome to Android Central! Where did you backup the old phone to, and what did you use to backup? Are you talking about your Samsung account, or the Backup option in the Settings>Backup & Reset menu?

When you first started the new phone and went through the Setup Wizard, it should have asked you if you wanted to restore from one of your other devices. Did you get that message?

if im honest im not 100% sure where I backed up to, my old phone asked me to backup and I pressed 'backup now', Im assuming it was Samsung because of the amount of storage space being used by it. I dont remember it asking me to restore from another device?

My husband sorted this for me thank you! Turns out I needed to perform the latest system update for it to restore my settings! 😀
