S8+ Netflix app screen goes off after 10 minutes of watching

I tried changing the screen timeout but the highest it goes is 10 minutes. Any ideas?

Welcome to Android Central! Any power-saving modes turned on? Do you know if Netflix is "battery-optimized" in the system settings?

Hi and thanks...no power saving mode is turned on and netflix is not battery optimized nor is any app.

I had this happen before but not on my S8. It was on my V10. For some reason the app wasn't signalling to the phone it was playing video ( or whatever it's technically called in programming). I ended up uninstalling the app and reinstalling as a force stop didn't work. I also rebooted my phone afterwards just to be sure. App started working fine after that.

I have this problem the display turns off on my screen timeout but after I turn it back on it's all good.

Did you try removing and reinstalling the app?
