This time around I'm thinking of going smaller...so the S8 is a little more appealing. My only concern is the smaller battery that comes along with the smaller screen. It appears the S8+ has a battery about 13% larger than the S8 - but a larger (and more power hungry) screen along with it.

Does anyone have any sense of whether the larger battery will lead to substantially better battery life or will the larger screen offset the extra juice the larger battery provides?

The screen is set to FULL HD by default.... It should help with S8 but the highest resolution will drain it. I have HTC 10 with 3000mah and its an average life. 3300 and 3700 mah respectively would be great ideea buts its too late now

The S8+ outperforms the S8. It gets 2 hours extra video time, 4 hours more talk time, 11 hours more music playback and approx 2 hours more internet usage.

I haven't seen any stats for standby time yet, but if it wins in screen on situations it would have to be much better

Thanks for the question, I would expect the larger Galaxy S8 + to have longer battery life simple because the size increase from 3,000 to 3,500. In my opinion that is enough to overcome the larger screen and make the device last a little longer. :)

Samsung does state on their website that it will last 2 hours longer with video playback. Only time will tell with real life testing. :)

This is the question for me, too. Would rather have the slightly larger than s7e, s8 with the battery of the 7e. May make me stay with the 7e. Waiting for real world evidence.
