S9 not "finding" printer

Had a problem with our HP All-in-One printer getting stuck in it's queue. After 3 maddening and frustrating days I finally got it all figured out. Now neither mine nor my wife's Galaxy S9 phones will connect/find the printer with Bluetooth. Can't seem to figure it out and we really need that convenience.

You might want to just have a local tech person come in and set up your printer for you. Someone who is familiar with such things will be able to get your printer working for all your gadgets (computers, mobile devices, etc.) on a reliable and consistent basis. At this point you're just frustrating yourself working off of assumptions and misconceptions.

I second that suggestion, since most of the devices should have better connectivity when set up via the router.

A tech guy might charge $100 an hour. A new printer is probably less. Some of these devices are crappy in my opinion, not consistent with their connections if not specifically perfect and especially also if one has more than one router or a router and an access point. I am almost tempted to use an old laptop as a dedicated print server and physically wire my printer to it (via USB), to then share it out as a network printer, to workaround some of these "Wi-Fi enabled printers" that give me some of the same problems periodically. However, in some cases you get what you pay for and some of these cheap Wi-Fi printers are really only good for a couple of devices on a small network.

Given there's a lack of basic technical background in the OP's query, spending money to have someone come in a set things up properly is an investment all the people in that household will benefit from. Expectations that anyone can magically learn things like basic networking or wireless protocols via an online help forum isn't a reality. So yeah, save a few bucks and do without, or spend a little to improve your quality of life.

I guess I was also sympathizing with the OP, in that even with some experience and knowledge of networking, sometimes these Wi-Fi enabled printers just sometimes don't work well enough, and there is sometimes also not enough controllable settings and features built into them to control making them work better.

I agree with some of the other suggestions about if possible, setting them up with a static/reserved IP.

Also, sometimes some of the other settings that could limit hop counts within one's home network (for example, if you have some access points in addition to just a single router/wifi point) and even the firewall settings in your router will unknowingly have some potential impact.

I'd still like to see exactly what the printer's menu shows for its IP address. There are a few addresses that show up on my Brother printer, so I want to make sure the OP recorded the correct address (e.g., not the gateway address).

It really does make it easier to use your HP WiFi printer.
