S9 Plus with double tap?

Hello.....I have the S9 Plus and was wondering if the phone has a "double tap to wake the phone". I am using Nova Launcher Prime. I read an article on Android Central about Nova Launcher.

In the article it said....."A lot of users do this to avoid wearing out their power button, and for phones with double-tap to wake since they start getting used to double-tapping to wake and sleep." I guess my question is: is a double tap incorporated in the S9+ or can this be done by using the gestures in Nova Launcher?

I would like to save wear and tear on always pressing my power button to wake up the phone. Thank you.

You don't need to touch the power button to wake a S9+. You can tap the screen where the home button is.

That only works when you have the always on display (AOD) turned on. I don't use AOD. Thanks for the information.

Not true. This works with or without AOD enabled. But to be clear it is not a "tap" you must press down a little bit on the home button area.

For this to work, you must have this enabled in Display -> Home Screen -> Navigation Bar -> Hard Press Home Button

Whoa........THANK YOU!!!!! I was doing a tap and NOT a press. That worked!!!! Totally appreciated your help! :-* So many new things to learn about with this phone. Merry Christmas.
