I've been wanting to get my wife a better phone. She has had the Moto g6 that got stolen, the one she has now is even worse. Have 180.00 and figure to put in another 200.00 to get her a good phone. I've been looking on SWAPPA and both phones can be had for 400.00 in MINT condition. I have the s8 which is better than any phone she's had. Suggestions please!!! Have been waiting for the s10 at cricket to go for around 350.00 but it hasn't happened yet.

My wife has and really likes her S9+ and I have the Note 9. She'd like her battery to last a little bit longer. If they're both available for $400, then I'd consider the Note 9 over the S9+ because the battery is bigger by more than 10% and because the onboard storage starts at 128MB. It kind of depends on what your wife would be comfortable using. The Note is a bit bigger than the S9+, and would be difficult for a person with average sized hands to use just one-handed. They've both been great phones.

My wife's phone is the J3 Orbit, which I'm sure anything s9 and above would be a 200% increase. Just curious is the s10e any better than the s9s?

The S10e is a little bit smaller, but a lot easier to use with just one hand. The battery is smaller than the S9+, but the smaller display and newer processor on the S10e will probably negate that difference. The S10e is a year newer too, which means at least one more OS update to Android 11. The S9 line just got what will probably be it's final OS update.

The S10e also has a flat screen. If your wife doesn't like Samsung's curved screen, then the S10e is the way to go.
