The funny part is that VZW (or any carrier's) reps are trying to convince people that these "added features and software" are actually a benefit to the consumer. The sad part is, the majority of (non AC-reading) users probably buy it hook, line, and sinker.

Verizon always does this. They get the same phones as Sprint, but release them weeks later, because of their "testing." (Or as it's more accurately described, "because they're adding bloatware.")

Worth noting that even the big reviewers -- CNET, ZDnet, etc. -- have not run reviews of the Verizon model, even though they've seen the AT&T and Sprint models.

Rooting isn't hard if you read up in it. If you took a couple hours and learned it you will find yourself the master of your phone. One click methods will come and those are so easy its rediculas.

Almost as ridiculous as that spelling.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. ;)

It is a sad day, at&t and sprint users have been notified that their s3 has shipped. Were the third wheel :'(

Does no one see the delay as what it really is? It won't hit plans till after the 28th forcing all these SG3 buyers to either pay full price or get tiered data. That will knock a few million off unlimited right there. Then over the course of 2013 the iPhone will knock another 10+ million off of unlimited...

There are already topics started on this very issue that explains this....

I am sorry but Verizon does NOT open every box and manually install bloatware. It's done over the air as a push just as new versions of ICS are sent to owners over the air. That is a totally BS reason to say the phones are arriving 2 weeks later.

Doesn't affect pre-orders, as covered extensively on these forums.

I will root and wipe out every piece of bloatware..

I hate bloat... I would never, ever, ever use any bloatware... Its ridiculous to me especially when I usually am out of contract and spend $649 for the device.

This thread title is misleading, I thought it pointed to a delay, or worse a reclarification of the terms of keeping Unlimited Data. There's no delay as long as these phones ship by July 9th. It sucks to keep having to wait, but the July 9th date was pretty clear from the beginning. I too would like to be pleasantly surprised by Verizon, but I'm certainly not expecting it.

All the bloatware talk is a little overblown. Yes, this phone will likely have bloatware, like every other VZW Android phone. But why is it any worse than others? Just like before, most of us who care will root the phone anyway, and can freeze any carrier added software, as well as certain manufacturer added applications, that we know we don't want and will never use.

For those acting like all bloatware is the devil, it all depends on definition. Most of us have used some form of bloatware at some time or another. I use the My Verizon widget to manage my account and keep up with usage, not to mention its fun to watch the data counter add up if you have Unlimited. I even grab the one for the Nexus when I'm running an AOSP ROM. How many of you used the Netflix app that came on your phone, instead of freezing it and re-downloading it from the Market? For those of us that have had 4G LTE phones for awhile, you can't tell me you never used NFL Mobile last season when you could watch every game for free. Hell, I even took advantage of the promotion last year to get Madden '12 for free through the VZ Apps store, though I haven't bothered to figure out how to get it working again on my Razr. If nothing else, I'm sure many of us used Backup Assistant the first time we switched to an Android phone. Granted, its useless bloatware once all your contacts get synched with Google, but we were all there once and its useful for first-time Android users.

I'm not saying I agree with the process of adding bloatware, I think its ridiculous. All carrier apps, as well as manufacturer apps that are not necessary to the system's operation, but add extra features or content above that of stock Android, should all be accessible through their own App Stores on the phone. Or at least allow us to uninstall them without being root. But still, its no worse than any other Android phone (save the Nexus), and as far as we know VZW hasn't made the process of disabling or removing them any more difficult than its always been. So a Verizon employee told you the phones wouldn't be shipping until the date that Verizon said the phones would ship by, and she also said that Verizon was adding some of their own apps. Neither of those are a big deal, and to be honest that goes along EXACTLY with what most of us should have expected.

I see nothing wrong with this thread. No one is calling anyone names, we seem to be having a lively discussion on bloatware. Yes the title is a bit misleading, but there is nothing wrong with this thread.

All of this speculation is just FUD any way. No one will REALLY know whats on the phone until its in our hands.

This is absolutely false by 100%. DO NOT listen to this. The REAL reason Verizon is shipping later than the rest is, because of stock and accessories availability. Verizon is expecting this phone to be huge and rightfully so and they also want to make sure they have accessories readily available when it launches. Look at AT&T and t mobile, they are having a hard time already with stock and even fulfilling preorders and those company don't have nearly as much users as Verizon does.

Listen, Verizon gave a ship by date and so far their on par for that date. It happens every time a new phones launches, Everyone gets upset about it. Just be patient, plus keep in mind it's a ship by date not a launch date which means we could see it sooner.
