So, I know this topic has likely been discussed ad nauseum but wanted to bring it up for a little discussion.

When I first got my Note 10+ I was coming from the Pixel 3 and I immediately started using any and all Goggle apps as I could - Gboard, Messages, Gmail, etc. because they were familiar.

Today, simply out of shear boredom and the desire for a little change, I opted to start using as many Samsung apps as possible. Kinda of curious to see how it goes and also hear from other folks that use Samsung apps exclusively to get some hints/tips I may not be aware of being a newbie. First thing I noticed is that aesthetically I prefer the Samsung apps, especially their email and messages. I will miss RCS from Google Messages, but we'll see how Samsung massages goes ...

I do enjoy their browser more especially with an ad blocker installed
Yes, their browser is another one that I find to be more aesthetically pleasing, and the ad blocking is great! Hard to get used to another browser after YEARS of using Chrome on phone and desktop. Got my bookmarks imported but passwords are a bit of a slower process to get incorporated into Samsung Pass.

I replace apps only that can be uninstalled (not disabled), else I will use samsung provided apps as I don't like to see duplicate apps on my phone. When using my pixel, I do like to keep it stock. But I do like the apps provided by Samsung. Some of the features I like most when using samsung apps are:

- messages : can categorize and pin conversations
- Browser: Adblock, user controls and experience.
- keyboard: ability to customize shortcuts like clipboard, translate, text editing etc
- MyFiles: Ability to add SAN storage (local and remote).
- Samsung notes: lock notes with password and enable group sharing with your folks having samsung phone.

And secure folder is just awesome. All my work and finance apps stays there. I miss spen and secure folder a lot when using any non-samsung phone.

I've never used secure folder before ... Not really felt the need as I'm obsessed and my phone is usually with me or somewhere veryy close LOL

I've noticed that, without my imput, apps that were previously downloaded via the google or amazon app store are now updated by the samsung store. That infuriates me. ES File Explorer and Antutu Benchmark are 2 that I found straight away that have been ported to the Samsung store without my permission.

Also, does anyone else think it is mental on the google store, that if you update one app you are forced to accept terms and conditions but if you click to update 20 apps you are not invited to accept any of the terms?

I don't really use Google apps except Maps and YouTube.

I prefer Samsungs keyboard and messaging apps, especially when using themes because the theme applies to all their stock apps.

Bixby runs circles around Google Assistant. Googles voice commands are a joke and on a regular basis over the years while driving Google Assistant will need an update before it can call someone. Bixby is flat out superior for voice recognition and being able to control a phone via voice commands. Bixby is the first assistant I actually think works well enough to be on a phone.

Samsungs internet browser is superior especially with ad block. Last time I used Chrome it was slow in comparison, wouldn't let me use an ad blocker, and caused higher battery drain. I abandoned Chrome on PC as well for similar reasons.

I do think Bixby is better for controlling different aspects of the phone and I've had better luck with Bixby for location based reminders. But for informational type searches/questions GA is always my default.

Sorry I won't do it ...

Samsung keyboard misses too much prediction ... GA much better on 90% of stuff .. I can get ad blocker and keep my Google Chrome .. not slow and synced across multiple devices .. Gmail .. YouTube .. Google calendar ..hmmm I can keep going on lol ...

My little experiment has been failing ... Not only I'm I slowly reverting back to the Google Apps I was using before, I am adding more - like calendar, phone dialer, contacts LOL. Turning my N10+ into a Google Play Edition LOL

I moved to Samsung apps too. On a S10+ I get RCS in Samsung messages. What version app are you using? RCS and group messages are actually nicer IN Samsung messages. I prefer all their apps over the Google versions and the email app is fantastic. Best on the market. I rarely use Google apps now and find them clunky in comparison to the Samsung versions. I also came from a pixel.

My version of Samsung Message is 11.1.65.17 ... I'm also using the unlocked Note 10+ and not a carrier variant. I've heard chat isn't available in Samsung message on the unlocked models.
