Samsung Apps vs Google Apps

I can't use RCS nobody I text uses it .. lmao
Hahaha ... Yeah, for me it's just my wife and kids that use it. But that's enough to make me want to have it.

Also, when I switched to Samsung Message I stop receiving their texts. Even after turning off Chat Features in Google Messages. Their texts would not come through until I switched back to Google Messages.

My version of Samsung Message is 11.1.65.17 ... I'm also using the unlocked Note 10+ and not a carrier variant. I've heard chat isn't available in Samsung message on the unlocked models.

My Unlocked Note10+ is also using the same version of Samsung Messages (11.1.65.17), but I do have RCS and chatting. RCS/chat was enabled when I got the Android update back in the beginning of July I think it was.

You have the international version?

I'm not. I thought we all got it with the July update. My wife has the same phone, unlocked and she got it the same time too.
I've been on unlock samsung phones for last couple of years and never had rcs on stock message app.

Yes I remember it was July because I got 2 updates that month. One big one at the beginning of the month like 7/1 or 7/2 and after the update it still said I was at June 1 security. That is the one that updated the RCS messaging. Then a week or 2 after that I got a separate update that put me on July 1 security update. At first I thought maybe it was some magic I made happen when I was messing around with the phone that enabled it, but no because I did no such magic on my wife's phone and she had it too. :) It was cool because all of the sudden everyone that I used to use RCS/chat messages with when I had it on my old S7 suddenly their messages changed blue.

I do think Bixby is better for controlling different aspects of the phone and I've had better luck with Bixby for location based reminders. But for informational type searches/questions GA is always my default.

I don't even use GA for searches, it's slow and filled with ads. I'd rather open Samsungs internet browser and go to Googles website to initiate a search.

You sure you not talking about sim unlocked carrier phone?

I use Gmail for my Gmail account now it supports dark mode. Previously I used Samsnung default mail app.
Firefox as browser with upswipe on tray icon for Samsung browser (may change with latest update shenanigans to Firefox)
Samsung phone app, gallery, music etc.

I will say that Samsung Text to Speech seemed ahead of Google's several years ago but now seems terrible in comparison. It actually seems like it is worse than it was itself 2 years ago, It even reads alarm times as "Seven colon thirty" which is hideous.

I will use the play store by default to search for 3rd party apps but douple check the Galaxy Store as well. As I say, I really don't like the fact that apps I installed from the Play store have now been hijacked and managed by Galaxy Store without me agreeing to it.

Sprint ... or T-Mobile now I guess depending on who you ask ... SprinT-Mobile.
Interesting ... I am on an unlocked Note 10+ (purchased from Best Buy) with T-Mobile SIM and have no such settings in the stock Samsung Message app

 I don't know what to tell you. I thought everyone was all updated to RCS back in July. Are you sure you got all your Android and Samsung updates?

Yeah, no updates available when I go into the Galaxy Store and both software and messages say they're up to date:

I may factory reset ... Not that I think it'll resolve anything. But I like to factory reset every once in a while when I get bored LOL
