Samsung Captivate Cases

Ordered a cheap eBay case today... black rubberized thing.
Still holding out for an OtterBox.

Here's the response I got from Otter:

"We do not have any information if a case will be made at this time for that device, but it is something that has been requested. I have put in a product suggestion on your behalf, and recommend keeping an eye on our website, as it will have the most up to date information on any new releases that we may have.

Thank you,
[OtterBox Rep Name Removed]"

are these snap ons easy to remove? and to remove it frequently? i plan on getting extra batteries so I expect to change them out everyday.

IMHO if you plan to do regular battery swaps, get a pouch or holster.
Every front-back snap-on case I have owned for any phone has begun to wear down after 5-10 removals. YMMV of course...

I plan to post a review with Pictures of the Samsung case I ordered as soon as I get it.
I got confirmation this morning that it has been shipped already.

I just got my MrHit.com sleeve in the mail along with my Realook screen protectors. The screen protectors are very good, about as smudge proof as you can get, and on amazon it was only $11 shipped for both of them. The MrHit sleeve is exactly that, enough to keep the phone protected from scratches, not enough to help prevent a fall on to concrete. The cutouts match perfectly on the phone, usb door still opens and closes easily, and the rocker volume and on/off switch are easy to push given the soft rubber material. The cutout for the camera is spot on, a perfect circle around it. I am happy for the $25 total investment for 2 phones.

To everybody who has the Body Glove case from ATT, do you guys ever experience dust getting into the screens from being in your pockets??? Or is the case snug enough with a tight fit which would prevent that?

Thanks!!!!!

I just ordered this case. This is similar to the case I had on my BB. It has been shipped so I should have it in the next couple of days.

Amzer? Silicone Skin Jelly Case - Black For Samsung Captivate i897

I actually received my case today. Very nice feel, on and off easy and still goes in and out of the pocket nicely. If I 'had' to find a criticism in the little bit I have had it may be that the height of the case above the face is higher than I thought it would be, but it doesn't interfere so far while texting on the swype keyboard. Well worth the $10 I paid for it!

Just picked it up a few days ago and pretyt happy with it (given the limited choices). There is a bit of dust build up on the screen and I just took off te cover and found a little on the top and bottom of the phone.

I received the Samsung (simulated) Carbon Fiber Case today from the Samsung website.
I like it a lot.

It looks way better than any other case currently on the market. IT feels great and does not add too much extra weight.
It has a slightly rubbery feel and I get great grip on it (better than the phone by itself)
the one issue I see with it is the snap on design. I feel like if I were to drop this phone from more than a couple of feet the case might break apart leaving the phone vulnerable. I however am not willing to try this so I guess we will have to see if I ever drop it.

The case doe not interfere with the Speaker, Earpiece or microphone and call quality remains the same.
It does not interefere with screen in any way, but I did notice the Volume Rocker and On/Off switch are a little bit trickier to get to.

All in all I say it was way worth the $22 I spent on it (got it for $16.99 + S&H [original price is 19.99 but used the 15% off Galaxys coupon code)

My initial review:

Feels nice
Not too "grippy" (it slides in and out of my pocket easily)
Doesn't impead headphone or USB plugs
Speaker, camera, volume and power cutouts look good
Feels lik ethe phone is a little more protected than naked

Is the inside hard plastic? Or is it the same rubbery material? I want to protect it from getting scratched when taking the case on and off.

It is not rubbrized on the inside, but I do not think there would be any damage to the phone with taking the case on and off.
On a related note, taking the case off is a pain, so perhaps my worries about it coming apart in the event of an impact were for naught.
It takes quite a bt of doing to ge the phone out.

But after some use I love this case. Super easy to grip and as I said before looks amazing (the design is the same design that is on the battery cover but rubbery)

I bought the white one from Amazon last week and it finally shipped today. If you go to the Skinomi website and enter get25 at checkout, you get 25% off, which drops the price to $15. I conveniently found this out after I already ordered from Amazon. I can always refuse the order, but I really need to get something on my Captivate soon before it gets scratched. The Skinomi is a dry application method for the body skin and a wet application method for the screen. I'll post something back once it comes in and I get a chance to put it on.

The Phantomskinz product actually looks better as I think there is a cut-out for the Galaxy S logo. With the Phantomskinz product, all skins are dry application and you get 2 of the screen protectors. It is $29.99 (or $20.96 from the website with summersale2010 code).

OK, so after 2 weeks of waiting and a lost shipment, the Skinomi skin came in today for my Captivate. First off, it is silver and not white (waiting to find out if they shipped the wrong color). They also managed to ship me a boxed product that was supposed to include a screen protector, but that was missing from the box.

Update: They don't have "white" and since I would have to wait for them to ship me a new one with the screen protector, I opted for the refund and ordered the white one from Phantomskinz. What a pain.

kaljr82,

did the case come with a screen protector as well, or is it just the case?

Thanks!

It was just the case. I am not a fan of screen protectors anyway. This screen seems tough, so unless you pocket it with your keys, you should be fine!
