Samsung.com Orders

is it worth it to switch from s21 ultra? 🤔

I am switching from my S21 Ultra. I'd say yes, but only because the trade in value for the S21 ultra is pretty huge if you go through Samsung.com. I ended up spending about $450 out of pocket, which isn't bad for a decent phone upgrade!

I'm switching from the S21 Ultra to the S22 plus and Tab S8. I am not trading it in as I can sell it for what I owe on it. I will be paying the same amount per month on both that I am on the S21. I went into Best Buy and held both the Ultra and Plus. I was talking to another guy looking at them and was telling him about the great deal I got on Samsung.com. I think he ended up buying the Ultra there at Best Buy. He had the Note 20 ultra so if he was trading it in and it was paid off, I suppose he got a decent deal.

I was surprised at how much lighter the S22 plus feels compared to my S21 Ultra.

I always have a monthly payment on a phone, so it's not really wasting money. I'll probably never keep a phone long enough to pay it off completely.
Wait, you're saying annual upgrades don't really waste money because you're always paying off the loans for those upgrades? There may be great reasons to upgrade, but perpetual indebtedness doesn't sound like one of them!

You folks who get Rakuten to fix missing rebates so quickly are lucky because when I have to have them fix it, they wait 45 days trying to contact Samsung before just giving in and giving me the rebate. This has happened like the last few times buying phones and I got so tired of calling them this time, I placed my order through the Shop Samsung app - which for some reason is always cheaper than the website. I ended up saving about $100 vs. the website, but I forgo the Rakuten rebate which should have given me about $160. I know, money on the table, but I really didn't have any patience to do this with them again this time. Next time. LOL

I only got my $50 credit email Thursday which only seemed to apply to order on the website and not on the Shop Samsung app. The website clearly says that the $250 credit includes my $50 bonus (before it said only $200), but on the app, all I see is the app special credit of $250 that I think everyone gets.

I wonder if I should contact them and ask why I didn't get the $50 credit using the Shop Samsung app?

I thought the app includes the 250 which is the same as getting the 200 plus the extra 50 on the website. I don't know if you will get both but you have nothing to lose by asking.

Managed to find an even better deal in Australia for the S22 Ultra and.....I kinda went nuts hahaha.

This deal is so insane that I feel like I'm going to get an email saying they can't honor it and it'll get cancelled.

Basically I got the phone at a big discount, I get free Samsung Care+, discounted case and discounted watch. As you can see, total saving is $1,707, which is just absolutely nuts.

Samsung do incredible deals on their phones even at release. I'll have to cancel my previous order, but that's fine. I'm paying even less for this deal and I get a watch and Samsung Care+ included.

Where was your previous order from and why did they give you Samsung Care free?

I knew not to wait for the $50 reservation discount. Free $350 keyboard or $50 in credit, what's better, lol. ;) I did almost give up ordering with all the problems trying to checkout yesterday, however. :p

Just contact them after it's shipped and they will usually send you a promo code for $50

Getting harder to resist with the preorder incentives... One of the biggest things about losing the SD card is not just the extra storage, but having all that data without relying on a network. Whether it's when traveling on plane or just being somewhere with horrible connection. Having music, photos, videos, etc as local files vs needing the cloud is pretty valuable. Considering looking at microSD to type C adapters for file transferring/backup purposes to seal the deal lolScreenshot_20220211-123401_Shop Samsung.jpg

I order the new phone. Wait until it arrives. Transfer all my data. Wipe old phone. Pay off the loan and then sell said phone for the same amount that I owed on it. So I'm breaking even on it. I've done this the past three years.

I've only had one smart phone for the full 2 years and that was my first smart phone, the Motorola Droid X2. That was the longest 2 years from August 2011-August 2013.

Edit, never mind... seems I was experiencing website/app issues like others. Shame Samsung couldn't get it together this year between that and the number of sold out options this early. Disappointing.

Not sure if anybody else is seeing this, but my order has gone from ‘Preorder’ to ‘in process’, meaning it can no longer be cancelled.

Well now that you mention it, yes!

The 'cancel' is gone & the order is 'in progress'. (S22 Ultra Burgandy 256)
Wow, that was quick. Thanks for the heads-up.

My husband still has his cancel button. (s22 Ultra Green 256)

My order is in process but I can still cancel. What phone did you get?

Annoyingly, I order the 512GB and used the credit for a load of stuff I didn’t actually want (it was early and I wasn’t concentrating.)

So I then placed a second order for the 256GB model and used the credit for a watch. Only now, i have two orders and can’t cancel the first so will have to go through the drama of sending one back when it arrives.

So random question: does anyone know if you can use the Spotify/YouTube Premium promos if you already have those services? Guessing not, but I didn't see any mention of this in the fine print.

I read somewhere that if you ever had a free trial YouTube Premium that you can't sign up for another one. I'd still try it anyways. You never know as it could always work again :)

Has anyone had any luck getting Samsung chat to reimburse you all of your student discount back? Only thing they would give me the other night was 5% off since it said on all the pages, I was supposed to be getting the student discount but when I went to place the order, it wasn't there.

The free trials are generally intended to offer those who have not yet used those subscriptions to see if it is a service that is right for them. You could cancel your current subscription and subscribe to the free trial with another email, however it may not be worth it. For example, I have a Spotify Premium plan with free Hulu that is grandfathered, so if I cancel it I would lose the free Hulu and not be able to get it back as it is no longer available..
