Samsung.com S10/+: Pre-Order Thread

So Samsung will pre-install screen protectors on all S10s now at the factory. FINALLY someone did it.

Hey guys, this is the first time I've ordered a phone through Samsung.com. I usually order all of my phones directly from the carrier (AT&T in my case).

I know this has probably been asked a lot, but I'm starting to read some horror stories about phones being delivered later than quoted.

For my specific situation, I ordered the AT&T version of the 128gb regular S10. I got a bit of early access so I was able to order before midnight on 2/20. To this day, my order still says it will ship by 3/8. Do you think I'm good or will I get it after 3/8?

Thank you!

My advice is just be ready to wait. Samsung direct is not the place to order from if your in a hurry. On the note 9, there was no method to their delivery, meaning just because you ordered first does not mean you will get your phone before someone that ordered 2 weeks after you.

I ordered thru Samsung this time because of the trade in and I could buy outright without device payment requirement that best buy requires. I'm not in a hurry and figure if I have the phone by tax day in April I'm doing good

Thanks for the info. Ordered the single pack for $49 (ouch). If I remember right that's around where the price was for the double pack for previous devices.

How does Whitestone ship these? First class mail, FedEx or UPS?
I always order from Amazon but they had no Prime shipping so I ordered straight from Whitestone.

I too decided to jump ship from my Pixel 3 XL and pre-ordered a Prism Blue 10+. I'm looking forward to seeing how Samsung has come along since the Galaxy Nexus days. I've been watching the reviews and just having apps open quickly when you select them is going to be a novel experience. My Pixel has become slower than turtles mating in cold molasses.

Yup. I am glad I'll have something on there until people can review the Whitestone protector, or other companies come out with other working glass protectors.

Lol, he preordered and has a date of March 8th. He will get it by next Friday at the latest. Many people have later dates, but he doesn't. I have ordered every time from Samsung and it has been delivered either early or by the date given every time.

Ugh, that's disheartening to hear! I really hope that's not the case but thank you for the info.

Compared to the other comment, this is great to hear lol. I really hope I get it by next Friday! My date hasn't changed of yet so I'm hopeful.

Thank you!

You could get it next week. What I said is true. Go back to previous releases and search Samsung pre-orders and read from bottom up, you will see the horror stories yourself. Obviously some will get them on time, but there's a big chance Samsung direct customers will see a delay. I'm just preparing you just in case. My logic, expect a later delivery and if it comes early, well that's a welcome surprise.

But at the same time look through the carrier shipping threads and hear all the disaster stories as well.

Well, I've never had an issue with Verizon myself. They change the ship dates as needed.

I'll take that back, last year Verizon did have a backorder on the 512 gb note 9's. That was from higher then expected demand, all carriers had that issue, Samsung is the one that did not produce enough, and Verizon changed their ship date to middle of October when their available stock was depleted. Samsung direct said nothing.

So they are putting on a screen protector? I read yes and then on one of the unboxing videos the guy said no.

Went back and checked the Note 9 preorder thread. Looks like some got ship notice on Tuesday and most on Wednesday. Friday was release date. So most people in the initial batch got by Thursday.

I ordered my note 9 the first day of preorder and received it Wednesday before release date. Ordered directly through Samsung.

I'm not going to go back and forth on Samsung dropping the ball, because I know they have, so has best buy. Last year on the note 9 Samsung was better, best buy think had issues. All I was trying to do is prepare people for delays and be happy if they come early, after all it's just a phone. Try searching other phones, you will see Samsung has had issues, major issues in the past.

Samsung seems to be doing better this time around by changing ship by dates, maybe they are finally learning.
