Samsung.com S10/+: Pre-Order Thread

For those curious, Samsung locked out any modifications to the delivery. Logged into my FedEx Delivery Manager hoping to have mine held at the FedEx location for pickup, but only get this: "Delivery option(s) aren't available due to shipper restrictions. Please contact the shipper"

So what's does that mean

That means they don't want anyone intercepting the package in flight and routing it elsewhere. It is going to go where you told them to send it.

Mine comes Wednesday, but I work and fed ex won't let me change it to pick up. :-/

It means your only delivery option is to be home to sign for it when FedEx delivers it. :D

With FedEx Delivery Manager, sometimes you have the option to sign a release form ahead of time to have a package delivered when you aren't there, or have it re-directed to a different address or held at the local FedEx delivery center for you to pick up directly from them, but shippers can restrict the availability of those options, which Samsung/Brighthouse has done for my shipment.

My Last phone order (S8) was through Verizon, and they allowed the shipment to be held @ the FedEx location for pickup, and I had been hoping to do the same with this order.

Yeah that sucks.. mine is supposed to come Wednesday but I work Monday-Friday so I won't be able to get mine at all? Don't they only try to deliver 3 times?

Fed ex with signature required, you have to sign for it. If nobody is there the first delivery attempt they will leave a door tag that the you can sign and they will leave the package the next day if the door tag is signed and there. After the third attempt and no signature can be attained they send the package back to shipper.

Now there are options, one is contact fed ex and arrange pick up at their terminal, this is usually available after first attempt delivery. I have read that Verizon requires one attempt delivery before this can be done. You can sign online for packages, but again I have read that carriers don't allow that either. I've printed out the fed ex tracking page and signed that and taped to door, and that has worked for me, but that is driver to driver deal, some might not do it, as it does require a direct signature or door tag signature after first attempt. I live in a small town, so we have different ways things happen that are unheard of in cities. Another thing I do and I did this time, have your package sent somewhere you know someone will be there, I used my retired parents since we live in the same town, I've used work, and I've used my babysitter.

Yes, after third attempt they return to shipper. They usually leave a door tag that you can sign and they will leave the second day if you feel confident it won't get stolen off your porch. Or you can arrange pick up at the fed ex terminal after first delivery attempt. You can try to do that before first delivery attempt, but most will tell you they have to make first delivery attempt, but there's always the exceptions to that policy from terminal to terminal

I ordered a few hours after preorders went live and haven't gotten a tracking number. Looks like I'm set for 3/8, was hoping for a 3/6 delivery since my Galaxy watch gets here that date. S10+ in black by the way.

Even though my phone has now officially been picked up by FedEx, samsung still shows no shipment on their end. I love having the FedEx home account where they tell me what is coming to my house. Helps around Christmas time when other people are sending you packages. We have the same thing with UPS. Everyone should subscribe to these free services if they have an address that allows for it.

I also just got the email that my phone/earbuds are on their way. Samsung.com shows nothing but Fedex shows it will be here on 3/6. Excited!!

If you won't be home, try and leave a note saying to please leave package at front door and your signature on the piece of paper. It's worked every time for me if I'm not home. Not sure if you're supposed to do that or not but there's nothing more frustrating than expecting a new package knowing you won't be able to accept it upon delivery.

I wonder how many people will get their phones before Wednesday. I'm just not that far from the the delivery center. Seems like they will almost have to sit on it to make sure it doesn't get here tomorrow...wouldn't be the first time I saw a package just chill at the local FedEx for a day before getting delivered.

Yeah this works for me all the time too.

Not the only option. You can leave a release form on your door like this one and they will leave it on your porch or where you tell them too.
