i think it has to do with the amount of stock in the nearest shipping facility near you im not sure but it seems like when there stock is ready they ship it out again not sure but mine came out of Indianapolis Indiana not sure if that helps at all mine will be delivered on tues via fed ex 2 day

Everyone is crying about Samsung here, but this is no different than the iPhone preorder fiasco every year. Supply and Demand. The Note 8 set a record, in the USA, for Note preorders. It is much more popular than expected.

Every year, Apple divides its stock among carriers. Depending on when you order, you might be able to get the same exact iPhone model faster or slower, depending on if you order from Apple, Best-Buy, Costco, Target, your carrier, etc.

Samsung is no different. The difference is that the wait, while inconvenient, hasn't even surpassed the released date yet. People often wait a month or more for their pre-ordered iPhone. We most likely have mere days.

It could be worse.

Ordered mine through Samsung on the 29th. Still showing Pre-Ordered. If I don't see any change by Wednesday, i may take a look at the new Iphone. I thought by ordering direct, I would have this device by the 15th.
I'm starting to have second thoughts.

Ordered Sprint version on the 1st, still in Preorder but I think it'll change tomorrow. Not sure I will get it by Thursday though due to the hurricane up here in GA (guess it's more of a tropical storm once it reaches me) but that's okay. I'll have some fun when I get back from vacation.

Mine arrived at the destination sort facility in East Boston at 4:20 pm yesterday. It still shows Tuesday 09-12 delivery this morning so I guess they will not deliver early.

Over the long run, having everything run through their hubs should be more efficient. Trying to figure out which ones would be exceptions and then handling them as exceptions to their standard process would be more inefficient overall. Unless the volume of exceptions (which is probably not the case here) is extremely high.

they all went to the Memphis Hub because it was a pallet of phones / orders and they all had to go to the main FedEx Hub in Memphis Tennessee to be divided up to be sent to destination careers

Yeah one of the customer reps told me that stock depends on which warehouse in the U.S. its being shipped from. Either way nothing we can do but just sit and wait

I ordered on the 5th as well. Black Verizon model. The original email confirm says it will arrive by 9/14 but my order is still listed as pre-order and no tracking info

Called UPS. Package still scheduled for tomorrow but I'm not sure if they're flying to RSW tomorrow. So far still says on time still on Louisville. Not holding my breath though. I decided to leave my house. Luckily it went further east and didn't get that bad here. the airport in Ft Myers. Got cat 1 winds so I hope it is functioning soon.
