Samsung (direct from them): Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

When I look up my order on the Samsung site, I get a msg stating "Sorry, your action cannot be completed. We regret the inconvenience." Needless to say, I am puzzled.

They (many merchants) do this for transaction some days into the future. The same thing occurred when I pre-ordered the S8 Plus from Verizon back at the end of March. It's basically the merchant 'sounding-out' your account as a test for solvency.

Hmm. If I recall the Note 7 got back logged a bit, but the carriers must get a larger supply because Tmobile didn't get backlogged I don't recall. Carriers must get first dibs.

For the unlocked, usually they don't release them for about a month or two afterwards. That could be why so many people are jumping at the unlocked one.

I would too, but I want to make sure Samsung with the Note 8 does timely updates. If so then I might by the unlocked Note 9. I almost got the unlocked this time but decided to stick with Tmobile version.

Samsung should have an option to trade in the phone to a local Samsung center... I was going to trade in an old iPhone 5 that I still had that is in mint condition but I had almost forgotten about the fiasco that people had with this before with their trade ins. Hmmm... Even in mint condition, would Samsung actually credit $425 for an iPhone 5 - the same value as the newer iPhones they would take? I find that hard to believe they would.

Make sure you log into your samsung account and update your info.. as soon as i did i got the email confirmation

So my bank acct has been showing a pending transaction for the Note 8 of $573.79 (535.00 plus shipping of 38.79). I just noticed the transaction is no longer pending on my bank acct and the money has not been withdrawn. In checking the Samsung site for my order, I don't see it listed. I don't know if my order was cancelled or their website is doing something screwy. Has anyone else seen their order disappear and any pending transaction on their bank acct disappear?

The bank does this. If the merchant doesn't take the money in X aount of days they give it back n clear the record.
The money will come out when it ships

I haven't been on here in awhile. Ordered a unlocked Note 8 from Samsung. I'm glad and surprised that the unlocked version was available for pre-order. It took awhile for a U.S. unlocked version of the S8+ to be available.

I was worried about not taking advantage of the $425.00 trade-in offer, but after reading this thread, I'm almost glad I didn't do it.

I ordered mine through T-Mobile, until I found out they charged shipping. Cancelled the order and ended up ordering direct through Samsung. Unlocked, no hassle getting the free SD Card and Wireless Charger, and 24 months no-interest financing. Can't beat the deal. Black was the only color offered, which was the color I wanted anyhow. Great deal.

I just had to cancel and replace my order for this. It was registering earlier, but it is now.

You can get it through "unidays". You get an extra $48 off.

Edit: To clarify, I am referring to how to get the student discount.

Edit 2: Looks like it is $48 off the total price, but only $26 off the already discounted price with the note 7 promo. $26 is $26.
