Samsung Epic EB13 (Froyo) Bugs

O wow ok so I figured it out....If ur like me and ur using ur laptops adater to read the sd card make sure the "lock" portion on the card is slide UP to LOCK & WALLA it lets me add and delete !

So, I got everything working but twice now, my epic has crashed and started from the android welcome screen. All data has been lost and once I get it up and running again, no apps will work. Has anyone had this problem? I got Froyo from the Samsung website and followed the installation instructions to the letter. I don't know why it keeps crashing. I flashed the rom and that worked for a little while...but it crashed again today.
What's the deal with that?

I think the word you were using is "Voila" not "Walla" :D

I don't know if this is a bug, but it is annoying to me... When in the browser after pushing settings button bookmarks no longer come up. I can't see anywhere how to access bookmarks.. Anyone else having this?

I did update OTA.

Bookmarks is now next to the address bar.

If its totally wiping your phone then you may have something wrong with your internal memory... Or you may have something wrong with your partitioning or it could be just a bad phone... First thing you need to do is use odin to go all the way back stock and clean http://forum.androidcentral.com/epi...68-how-factory-restore-fix-bricked-phone.html

If your still having the prob after that then its most likely going to be you phone. Hope not but it may be so...

Let us know how it goes...

First thing first you should try another Kernel and see if its still doing it or maybe try the stock kernel again... Check wifi if it works then just try a diff kernel did you convert it ext4 you might just need to hard reset it and see what that does... Hope this helps

i'm running stock froyo via the update.zip method. The only thing I did was update the kernel to fix the camera issue. since the update, i've had a consistent wifi problem. It will show as connected, however the internet will work intermittently. It is so bad that using wifi is pretty much unusable as anything i'm streaming or download will just stop and eventually time out. This issue started the day i upgraded. I've scoured the forum, but can't find anyone else that has this problem. Any ideas?

I've made a post for this but I'll put it here too .it was never a problem before the update. I can't use any streaming apps. Pandora, slacker, youtube. They keep giving me errors. I have the update.zip and have done a hard reset. They work on wifi but not on 4g or 3g.

I received the update OTA. Most prominent bug is the wifi cutting in and out even though the indicator reads full signal.

I did the factory reset. And the bluetooth is not nearly as bad. But the rest of the problems are there. And I've also been having problems with my WiMax going to sleep all the time even when I'm trying to load web pages. Do know what could be going on? And thanks again I really appreciate your advice.

Ok so I did the update using the update.zip file on the 24th of Feb. I wiped the phone and reformatted the sd card for good measure as well. As of Tuesday I have been having the following problems:

1. Incoming calls arent coming through right away or sometimes not at all. Contacts call and it will go straight to voicemail...they might get through on the fourth or fifth try.

2. Text messages will come in bulk minutes sometimes even an hour after the fact (using handcent). I've never had any issues with that text app.

Can anyone please help

I have searched and could not find this problem. After getting the new update (OTA) EB13, I can no longer use the package tab in the Taskmanger. It will Force Close or reboot. Not sure if another problem I am having is related. WHen I use Wifi Tether for rooted it will also force Close or reboot. Has any else had this problem?

Sounds more like Sprint service issues in your area vs software problems.

What method did you use to update? Odin, update.zip...?

I kept up with android central and did a manual update and my phone started to over heat while the phone was in idle mode. It would stay like that the entire day and hit temperatures of 116. This was off and on the whole time I had the device with the new update so now I am nervous about putting the update on my new Epic to Froyo and have the same issues. What do you guys/gals suggest?

i dont think that's the phone mine does that when ever i am in salina but in manhattan it never does it try updating you profile menu/settings/about phone/updates/update profile give that a shot...

That's the prob :( OTA update was pulled because of probs you need to do a hard reset all should be well after that use a program like my backup pro to do a backup. also before you go through all the trouble of a hard reset try formatting you micro sd card first make sure you back up you data first...

I never herd of this because of the update it may have been an app running in the background using data or something i doubt it was the update... Could be i guess but not likely...

It might not have been the update but I assumed because thats when the phone started over heating. So then I should be ok with the update on Samsungs website? All I would have to do is just empty out the Media Storage and things should be fine.
