Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 - Pre ordering?

First hiccup with this device. Been enjoying it all day no issues then I get in my truck and try to connect it to my usb c port and it starts going haywire dinging like crazy and gives a message saying the usb connection is unstable. Plugged my note 20 ultra back in and no issues. Tried multiple usb c cables and no luck. It eventually stopped dinging and continued to charge but it won't establish a connection with the truck infotainment center for android auto. This could potentially be a deal breaker for me as I cannot do without android auto.

Have you tried restarting the phone and then trying to plug in? got that suggestion from this...

https://turbogadgetreviews.com/android-auto-most-common-bugs/

Could be an app or service in background causing the issue just like on PC.

Also, does it say "internet connection not stable?" or "usb connection not stable?"

From past bugs, it sounds like maybe a sw update in the future could do it like for the former error message.

Yup I even went as far as factory resetting it. No luck. It says the usb connection is unstable. I hate to return it and get another one and it have the same issue. I'm certain it's software related. But I worry about the chances of getting it resolved in an update.

Yeah doubt even Verizon will ship the Kevlar ones. I'll try to see locally if I can find the leather case to pick up. If not I may have to use it without case for some more time.

The leather case for this phone is a joke LOL. $79 and it only covers half the phone.

It looks stupid when the phone is unfolded. Sʌᴍsᴜɴɢ could have least made a bumper for the outer display side so it doesn’t look so incomplete when open.

Also it’s $30 more than ‘s leather case.

You should maybe start an Fold 2 Android Auto post to get peoples attention and have them test it out too. Mention car/truck type to see if common issue... maybe outside chance insufficient power on the USB port? Is it a USB-C in the car or A?

Yeah, kinda sucks having to wait for update and how long... could get lucky with next update if they are aware... could be 2-3-4 updates later if lucky. I remember my Note 8 at release I had random rebooting like once a week I think... 3-4 months/updates later all gone.

At least you still have the N20U... that can be your Android Auto connected device.

It shouldn't use any more power through the USB port as an AA device than a conventional device unless someone is using it unfolded at the same time but even still that shouldn't disrupt AA. It just possibly wouldn't charge fast enough. Something else is wrong.... either a bad unit or something is not compatible.

Got my phone free headphones and case will be here by October 1st BOOM....

I had the first Fold for a few weeks but I don't remember it being this slippery. Definitely going to need a case for this one.

Those of you with the N20 Ultra, do you see yourself keeping the Fold 2 or going back to the N20 or keeping both?

I’m undecided. Not sure how much I’ll like it when it’s closed. Plus I wish the screen was bigger

I have the Note 20 ultra 5G . My fold is on order because I got the colored hinge but I’m keeping both . I traded in my iPhone 11 max for the fold . Hope I don’t regret it . Lol

You are better than me lol I would never trade in my iPhone 11 Pro Max. I’m going to trade in one of my iPhone X

I did not know this

You wish the screen was bigger? Really? I guess I can see that.

It's definitely a world of improvement over the 1st gen especially going pretty much edge to edge, but I agree I'd want a larger front screen... bigger as in wider.

Because most likely most users will be using the outside screen 80%+ of the time when on the go... checking email or texts, etc. I think if I'm right about the % of usage of outside screen, the narrowness will get tiring.

3rd gen... Lets try wider 4mm on the front screen could make a huge difference for daily use. Also knock off 2mm in thickness when folded to about 14.5-15mm. Try to get an IP rating on it and it gets closer to being a more usable device. :) Knocking a mm or two off the height wouldn't bother me either :p

You’re talking about the screen when folded? I meant inner screen

Yes please so I can find my iPad officially useless

Nothing replaces my 11" Pro for when I wanna do some casual reading and browsing sitting in my favorite chair or couch at home holding it like a magazine/book at comfortable font size. Or some late night read in bed before going to sleep.

For me, there is a size for everything...
small form factor phone for taking when working out.. 10-12 mile runs or in pocket while trail riding.
Larger size (N20U) for daily/work... maybe a Fold 3rd/4th gen.
11" iPad Pro for mentioned above or light carry/non-work traveling.
14-15" screen laptop for work travel.
22" to 27" dual screens for office on my PC

I just ordered screen protectors it’ll be here hopefully by October 13 .... but that’s stupid of Samsung to just cover one side especially for that price....

Yeah considering  only charges $49 for their iPhone leather cases which are way nicer than these.

A bigger screen would definitely replace my iPad but I agree. I can do a lot more on my android phones Nothing any time soon can replace any of my computers

I bet apple increases their prices on accessories when the iPhone 12 comes out especially since they aren’t including crap with the phones why oh why Apple must you take more money from me ?
