Samsung Galaxy j3 keyboard will not appear

Last night I tried to send a text message, but the keyboard would never appear. I tried restarting my phone, but that did not help. The keyboard will not work for any apps or while browsing the internet. What can I do?

Welcome to Android Central! Do you have a Bluetooth keyboard connected? If not, try going to the App Manager, select the keyboard app, and clear cache/clear data. If that doesn't work, try installing another keyboard app, like Gboard.
