why is this worth over $800usd? seems steep $$$ to be first on the block...

all the usa service/data plans are close in price....seems like big $$$ to be contact free.... (unless you some how kept the old unlimited data plans like att HAD )....

Yep, noticed that too. Just posted this on my "Galaxy Nexus for the United Kingdom" Thread.

Preorders are hotting up for this device ? however distribution is stating delivery of this highly anticipated device has moved to week commencing 21st November. This will unfortunately effect all UK retailers.

I have sent them an e-mail and also posted a comment on the blog asking for more details. Since Samsung have already given us a 17th November release date How can "all UK retailers" be delayed?

This sucks. Now I'm starting to think that I may see the Galaxy Nexus retailing in Thailand before the UK now.

Got an update from Handtec's site:

"07/11 Update: Having many questions regarding the release date and first batch allocation. As usual Handtec have a large backorder with Samsung and we expect to fulfill all backorders upon release. Some retailers may still be showing dates of 7th or 17th etc but the above information is directly from Samsung distribution. Please be rest assured that whenever the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is released (be it 7th 17th 21st etc) then as usual we will be first to have stock and ship."

Wow, looks like a bad day. It seems some on Xda are reporting that Amazon has pushed the date to the 2nd of December and when Amazon customer support is emailed they are answering back that it's because the actual release date has been pushed.

Yes, that IS what amazon is saying but let's face it, and they were also the ones that had a seven hundred pounds plus price tag on the phone. They know no more then us for sure.

For anyone but a Verizon customer (or non-American) it would be the Samsun Galaxy Nexus (Distant Future) Owners Club. Come on Sprint.

That's not true at all. If you are on AT&T or T-Mobile or other GSM network you can import a phone. But Sprint users are out of luck.

I think we'll see the International GSM version first (which AT&T and T-Mobile customers can import), then Verizon later...
