Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Battery Issues

Hi guys, the suggested ways of saving battery can only increase the battery backup by an hour or two.
But how do we bring back the humongous backup that we used to get earlier?
According to what i observed, the backup reduced since I upgraded from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2.
During the first month after purchasing the phone on 4th november, the battery used to last for atleast 2 days with moderate use and atleast a day anf half with heavy use, such was the power of 3100mAH!!

So as experienced by me, it is an issue with 4.1.2 version update. I kept updating with new updates as they were realeased expecting samsung to have fixed this issue. But this only made it worse.

Now I plan to get my fone formatted and rollback to the default android that came with the phone. Is it possible to that with yhe service centre guys? Please suggest.

Thanks,
Shashi.

I have been able to resolve some of the sleep/idle drain issues, but not all:

1. Turn off Google Maps automatic location reporting (this has been the highest impact for me)
2. Turn off Google Now cards and notifications (your Google Now search feature will still work)
3. The Samsung Touchwiz has some serious wakelock issues with the stock Calendar app. It appears, after a calendar notification, the phone continues to be wake up after the alarm. Many calendar entries also causes significant wakelock distrubances. My calendar services woke up my phone 48 times in less than 1 hour after a notification! (there's a fix out on XDA for this)

good luck, but those are the top 3 items from a stock Note 2.

After trying allsorts to increase battery life and screen on time (my screen on time averaged between 4 1/2 and 5 1/2 hours) I have reverted to 4.1.1 and the difference is day and night.

My eMMC is 0xf7, meaning the SDS (Sudden Death Syndrome) is not a factor for me. If the eMMC revision is different, I would not recommend downgrading.

I used:
- Odin v3.07 - [LATEST] Odin 3.07, Odin 1.85, Odin 1.83 | All versions! | Samsung ROM Flashing Tools - xda-developers
- Original FW from here: Download GalaxyNote2/GT-N7100 at StockROMs.net
- You should already have the Samsung drivers through Kies

1. Turn off your phone, hold volume down, power and home until it boots into download mode;
2. Connect to PC;
3. Start Odin;
4. Click on PDA and select the firmware (make sure you unzip the FW download first)
5. Hit start
6. It seems you need to do a factory data wipe from recovery after installing since I got stuck on boot (blinking Samsung logo).

Good luck!

I had same issue but the thing is i mesed up conection pins where you put your charger they replaced that and now its ok.

I get almost av whole day out of my phone. Not sure if it's because of lte or because I have a bunk battery. I though it was pretty good until I saw all the people on here getting 2+ days or of their batteries.

It's because they're not using it as much. If you look at their screen-on times, it's usually an hour or less. (Just like my friend's note 2, for example, he got 19 hours (forgot how much battery life yet), but only have 1 hour of screen time)

While mine is down below. My best yet.
