Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Drop Test

Why hasnt anyone tested with the Sview or other cases?

Those Samsung cases like the S-View don't provide much protection against drops... they are more just to protect the screen against scratches when they are in a person's pocket or purse.

While I understand the concept, I couldn't help but think the same thing as you. I'm dying for one of those phones and they're smashing them, haha.

Is it just me or is this pretty stupid? Obviously dropping glass on concrete isn't going to end well....what a perfectly good waste of a Note 3. Jerks!

Drop tests are always stupid but this is a business buying them so they have the cash. You could have one to if you bought the international version.

Millions of gadget-hungry techies out there chomp'n at the bit to get their Note 3 and these clowns are seeing what it takes to break one? What is the world coming to?

Again completely normal. Any new phone coming out this will happen.. Always does. It's what happens when the manufacturers will sell them the phone ahead of the crowd.. And they have the money to do it with.

Of course. But the Note 3? The Note 3 is special. Just like you wouldn't drop a newborn puppy on the concrete....

Note 8.0

This poor phone has paid the price for the sins of other Note 3s everywhere.

from my Sony XTZ

For Samsung so loved the world, that It made one of many Galaxy Note 3es, that whoever believes in It shall not allow It to perish, but have a long and fruitful life in a protective case.

Thanks you guys...was definitely inspired by Haalcyon in writing that.

For all you Note 3 buyers/owners, please get the best case/screen protectors you can afford (or even not afford...) I actually teared when I saw that poor phone get abused like that. It isn't an iPhone, after all......

So uh, who started passing around the koolaid and why have half the people fallen asleep? lol

This hasn't inspired me to get a case at all. I've had my GSIII for about a year and a half, hasn't been dropped once. Had a 4S before that, also never been dropped. Maybe I'm just more careful/less clumsy than most...

There's the old adage, "You can lead man to the phone but you can't make him protect it." Imagine not getting full-coverage car insurance until after you've had an accident. I know, I know. I'm just say'n.

I am careless and I am very clumsy. I also don't perform drop tests, so there's that going for me. :)

I have a flip case for my Note 2 and I'm surprised (knock on wood) I haven't dropped the thing on it's edges yet (though with the Note 3 I'm getting a real case.) The back of my flip case is all scratched up, but thankfully I still have the original back that was never used. Couple that with a screen protector for my Note 2, and I'd say it's protected well. But I am itching for a real case now.

I'm exceedingly careful with all my belongings and even I've dropped my phone before...and not always on carpet. I can't imagine if didn't have a case on it. However, I understand, its not as fun to cat-call and whistle at your phone's beauty when its in a slim case.

"Hey Phone, hey phooooonnnne, you're look'n mighty fine in your all your Gorilla Glassness! Text it baby, text it!"

No I'm with you on that...look, my phone (regardless of what it is) is a phone. Whether I'm making phone calls, or looking up something, checking email, etc, it's a functional tool, not something that belongs in a museum, or something. At the same time, what was done in that video though is something I just can't stomach. I can see accidental drops, but drops done like that one purpose....I dunno...my stomach turns a bit...
