Welcome to Android Central! Make sure Smart Stay or Smart Pause are turned off. Also, is the phone in a case? If it's a 3rd party case with a flipcover, the cover might be inadvertently activating the phone's smartcover sensor (due to an embedded magnet that's too strong).
