Samsung Galaxy Note 4 - Anyone else use Blocking Mode on their device? Does it work for you?

One of the features I loved about my Note 3 was the Blocking Mode. I had it set to not allow any notifications, and had a small list of enabled contacts that could reach me after a certain time (sleep time). I've noticed that on my Note 4, even though I have set the phone to block notifications, I can wake up and see the blinking light on my device. Anyone else use this feature and have the same issue? I've tried restarting the phone, resetting the feature, and other tricks to no avail.

Blocking Mode works for me on my Sprint Note 4 just as it did on my Sprint Note 3.

Works perfectly for me as well. I have only ONE contact I allow and only that contact gets through.

You do if you have the phone set for LED notifications. You may want to look into using a free app called Llama.

I use it. My phone won't make noise from text or phone between 9pm and 6am, except from 3 people. Used it on my Note 3 also. Set it and forget it.

NOTE 4,, GO BIG OR GO HOME!

Hmm. This one is new to me. I've been using an app called My Profiles. Where do I find Blocking Mode?

Works fine for me. I never used it on my gs3. I don't mind the blinking light, as long as i don't hear the sound.

Go to Settings, and it's the 2nd item under "Personal". On the Note 3 for me, it would block everything you needed it to block like notifications, phone calls, etc. While I sleep, I don't want the phone's LEDs to wake me, nor the notification sounds. You can tell the device what numbers are ok to receive, or tell it that you only want the alarm clock to wake you. It's a nice feature if you keep your phone near your bed.

So your LED blinks even when you have the feature turned on? Do you have your LED notifications checked on or off? Based on my Note 3's design, the LED shouldn't come on if I have blocking mode on.

Yep, I use Blocking Mode every night. I have just a few people on my allowed list so, it's a pretty peaceful night for my phone.

I leave my LED on, but you have the choice in blocking mode in any case...

You don't have the choice on the Note 4.

I never tried to stop the blinking. I like the idea of knowing I may have new notifications but because they're silent they don't bother me. I would put my phone face down if the LED was a distraction. But I barely notice it.

You have to go into display and wallpaper option and uncheck led indicator to turn off the led. I miss just having to turn on blocking mode on my note 2 since it turned off the led with blocking mode. Now its a two step process.

Yep, going feom a note 2 to the note 4, blocking mode has been neutered. It blocks the audible notifications but not the led. On the note 2 you had seperate options to block led and sound on notifications. Otherwise it works fine. Just a minor annoyance.

I get LED notifications on the Note 4 with blocking mode. I got them on the S4 as well. What I don't get is a phone that makes noise at certain hours unless I want it to make noise.

My led didn't light up with blocking mode on the s4. There s an option for that in the blocking mode settings. Now there isn't on the Note 4.

Glad I came across this, as I noticed my led was blinking the other night. On my AT&T note 3 you could disable led in blocking mode. Not so on Note 4.

I had to go look at my Note 3 and sure enough it's an option. Not sure why Samsung decided to keep that function out on the Note 4.

They made a separate option to shut it off completely, but I just want it off at night.

For reference, moto released a widget to sit the notification light off a few years ago. It claims to work on all devices, but it doesn't work on the Note 4.
