It has been explained a few times in the forum already but just for simplicity sake, the left side mic hole on the bottom of the Verizon version is positioned 3mm farther out toward the corner than it is for the other carriers. That is why Samsung (knowing this) made the left side mic hole for their protective cover oblong or elongated if you will. The only other universal, carrier agnostic cases out there also have an elongated left side mic hole. So far I know Ballistic is making their covers that way. I simply cannot tell you who else is besides Samsung themselves and Ballistic. So far, many many more are not than are at least that I have found.

I emailed UAG and they confirmed that their cases will have the elongated hole.

Spigen cases going back to Amazon. Ordering a UAG Maverick, Tech 21 Clear Mesh case and the Samsung Protective case.

Now, if they would only start selling them.

That is good news. I am inclined to think the UAG is the best of the one piece cases. Ballistic has a one piece that is nice but I guess as designed for other devices, it has been real tough to get off...that says to me that it is probably real tough to get any sort of screen protector under it as well. But I don't think I will be able to resist their Tough Jacket. Elongated hole, very good protection....bulky but tolerable....I would hope. I would be all over the Ballistic one piece once it starts shipping. But I don't think I want a one piece that is tough to get off....why have a one piece if it is tough to get off? Also, I guess the back of their one piece is slick as all get out. I have seen video of it just sliding on table top like a hockey puck.....yikes!!!!

I have received my black UAG and it has the elongated hole on the left side. Fits great! Looks great! Works Great!


ps the heart rate scanner works but you have to get your finger in the exact right spot. before the case went on, it seemed I could just get close for it to work.

So has anyone heard back from Spigen as to whether or not they're going to update the case design? I contacted them last week, but they haven't responded...typical Spigen.

If you're referring to the Spigen NH, it was sent back already due to the mic holes not lining up.

I called every Verizon store and none have the Tech 21 cases yet.:'(

Does the volume and power buttons on the Tech 21 case bulge the sides a little?

Not really. The buttons are harder to push with the case on though.

I placed an order online with Verizon for the Tech21. They have free shipping right now on accessories. Delivery date already shows Thursday. Thanks for the pics TechNut79! Between this and the Ballistic TJ the Note 4 is currently wearing, I think I'm covered!

Finally got the neo hybrid today. Problem was resolved with 5 minutes, a thumb tack, and a pair of kitchen scissors. You don't have to modify the shell. Rather, extend the opening in the TPU. After this, no complaints at all regarding call quality. Spigen dropped the ball, but this was easier than returning a case that I otherwise was satisfied with.

Returned my Spigen case. Bought the Tech21 from Verizon. Love the Tech21
worth every penny.
