Re: Note 4 vs iPhone 6 Plus: Which would you recommend?

So we can get a 128gb to put in the Note 4? I was under the impression the max storage was 128gb not that we could also add a 128gb sd card. I am coming from the iPhone as well, ready for a change! is there a specific sd card you recommend?

Yup, Note 4's storage expansion can fit up to 128 GB. SanDisk is a popular brand. It offers MicroSDXC 128GB (Class 10). Try checking your local stores for price comparison. In Amazon, the listed price is $110.

If 128 GB is too big, you can go for the widely used 64 GB. Again, SanDisk is a great option but the Samsung 64GB EVO Micro SDXC also receive many good reviews. :)

Note 4 vs iPhone 6 Plus: Which would you recommend?

There's basically nothing new in iOS 8 since the so called notification and actions support is a joke compared to Android.

People who are die hard Apple fans won't even consider Android and will get every new iPhone. For anyone seriously comparing the 2, IMO iPhone 6 literally does nothing better either in software or hardware, unless you really must have certain iOS apps or Pay.

No 1000000 icons in the notification bar (the android notification tray has to be the most disgusting piece of software I've ever seen, I just hated that thing, so many stupid icons and crap staring in your face 24/7 until you clear it, it's nice to not have to stare at that eye sore and be able to get my notifications on my lock screen) easy way to check which apps are pulling from the background, accessing location, easy way to stop certain apps from having control of certain actions without having to go through 1000 menus.

Get apps faster than android, get games faster than android, ability to send messages from my tablet without having to go through magical processes, etc.

There's a lot of little things that iOS does either better or cleaner than android, while android is make feature packed.

There's a ton of new stuff in ios 8, it may not be new in comparison to android, but to people used to Apple products, there's a lot of new things to enjoy. For those coming from android, there's a lot to enjoy as well.

For me, it's the little things, most of which I mentioned above. Not to mention not having to be harassed to update my phone by a stupid notification, every time a new update comes (the once in a blue moon when your carrier decides you can have it). 0 carrier bloat is also a huge positive.

Being able to set a custom vibration pattern for texts and one for phone calls.

There's a lot of things I can do now that on android I'd have to go find an app for, on iOS, everything that I need is just there.

Both platforms are great, it's really not about which one is better or which one has more features, etc, it's about what works for you and what do you want to get out of your experience.

Yea, for those 9 people that actually formed a formal complaint and the people that intentionally bent their phones....

No one should make fun of manufacturing flaws or make generalizations off of small sample sizes, it usually comes back to bite someone in the rear.

I have 5 friends who have the 6 plus and all of the phones have the bend. I'll be it's a very small bend, but it's there. I wouldn't care, but you seem to be living under a rock and stating that there are 9 people with the problem. Maybe you have your Apple goggles on.

Wow adding that to the 9 official complaints, that makes it 16. Maybe if we add all the ones from videos we can get up to 50?

But on a serious note,is it possible that it bends? Sure, I don't think anyone is going to deny that a thin piece of metal can bend, but if you're going to use such small sample sizes to say that there's a problem, that's not a good idea.

That's like saying "my 5 friends went to mcdonalds and they for food poisoning, I also heard on the news that 5 other people that ate McDonald's had food poisoning, therefore most people that eat mcdonalds will have some form of food poisoning".

Did you seriously just ask this question?

iPhone 6 Plus or a Note 4?

Are you high?

Note 4, duh.

I think you're missing the point.

Actually, you're missing the point. I would say that the whole #Bendgate thing is blown out of proportion but to think that only 9 people have reported it is ludicrous. You've got to factor in the people who simply won't report it/ignore it. And keep in mind that there's a lot of people who haven't received their 6+ yet. The problem is only going to get more prolific.

Re: Note 4 vs iPhone 6 Plus: Which would you recommend?

How do you guys think call quality, earphone audio and camera quality will compare between the two?

I'm leaning towards the 4 because it's much cheaper with the $200 trade in, but think the iPhone is probably better in these 3 areas.

Coming from a Note 2 with debloated/deknox/deodex 4.4.2 which still runs so well I don't fell like I really need to upgrade.

Whether it's 10 people 50 or 500, when a company moves 10 million products in less then 2 weeks, it's going to take substantially more than 9 complaints or 100 for that matter for there to be a "problem".

Over blown. Is it possible to bend an iPhone 6? Of course. Did you really think that something tall and thin wouldn't have durability problems under the right amount of force?

Go take 100 post it notes, then take 20 pieces of printer paper, try to tear each in half with your bare hands, see which one is easier to rip in half.

I mean really, some things should be pretty obvious (I'd hope).

Can it bend? Yes. Is there a "bending problem" nope. Is it susceptible to being bent? Of course, so to that end is it possible that there are more issues than reported? Probably.

Go try and bend a nail with your hands, then to try and bend a spoon. The spoon will bend faster,no?

This bend gate thing started with a guy on reedit or whatever and then the guy from unbox therapy (who makes awesome videos on YouTube , been following him for a while)

This is a major company, if there was a major issue I'm sure there would be a recall by now.

I mean this whole thing got passed around using social media, if there was actually a massive problem, this thing wouldn't be spreading by hearsay and people wouldn't be having to make test videos to see if it would bend, if there was actual "problem", I don't think people would need to make videos that show that it bends under force, I'd like to think we'd hear more reports of "I sat on my phone, it got bent" than "hey, did you know if you put your right hand here and your left hand here and press hard it'll bend?"

I don't normally make calls so I'm not really sure what defines "clear call quality", but on the 6+ I can hear background noise through the ear piece. Not a ton, but you can hear background noise when you talk to someone who's outside.

This may or may not be normal, I wouldn't know because I probably use 10 minutes a month, but I hope this helps answer from the apple side.

Camera quality, just like the phone call thing, I don't take pictures, maybe once a month and usually it's of an item or a tv screen so again I'm probably not the best judge, however the pictures I've taken have come out pretty clear, maybe a little better than the pictures on my iPad Air.

With earphone audio I guess you mean the speaker? If so, the only noise my phone makes is for texts and it's pretty loud and clear. And the occasional time where I play a YouTube video out loud, the quality is good.

If you want a really big display, Lumia 1520.

Which, no offense, is a weak choice compared to either. Windows Phone and iOS both did nothing extra to take advantage of the extra screen space, but at least the Note 4 has all the productivity, and the iPhone 6 Plus has all the apps (though not all are optimized). So with the 1520 you get none of the extra productivity features or even a large app store. Seems like a bad choice compared to the other two, though I am not saying it is a bad phone.

Re: Note 4 vs iPhone 6 Plus: Which would you recommend?

Being a recent Android convert, and still happy Apple user and one that isn't on a band wagon, I saw something that made me laugh a little yesterday-

A group of 6 young girls, who looked like they were all in high school, walking around with new 6+'s an one with a 6, ALL of them with chargers in hand, a couple of them were still attached to the dock and wrapped around their hands :-!
Granted they're their own group of power users- probably texting, checking Instagram/Facebook/twitter/etc all day long, they more than likely use lots of battery life on their devices. But apparently, the 6+ battery still isn't enough to keep up with that kind of demand of power.

I'll admit there's a chance down the road that I'll get the 6+ If a successful jail break of iOS 8 is released, but for now I'm happy with my switch. I actually enjoy the clutter in the notification bar, it's a good reminder of what I haven't checked /cleared, what might be running that I can kill, what the temp is without going to a weather app, and much more. I do like the simplicity of the Apple bar as well, but a change is always good

Been getting pretty good battery life for heavy usage, however I've seen people get a lot more out of their phones on imore.

Re: Note 4 vs iPhone 6 Plus: Which would you recommend?

As I could do the same on my phone as well. But my point wasn't that I didn't have to pull down the notification center within any app to see, and just that I could glance at the header bar at any given time and see up to date weather. I suppose I should've been a bit clearer about this in my last post.

There was several battery apps I could've downloaded for the jailbreak on iOS 7 but I didn't really feel the need for one. I religiously killed apps, ran a disk scan/clean often, and for the most part my battery served me well up until the last couple months, it started draining noticeably faster out of nowhere.

Aside from that I've seen topics about The two big OS providers copying each other back and forth, both on software and phone features. As far as iOS goes, I see Apple integrating tweaks available in the jailbreak community more than anything. Which, I don't doubt developers see something on Android and want it and develop it for iOS, so everyone copies everyone. But with ios 6 and 7, both releases showed numerous new features that were identical to tweaks already available to jailbroken iOS devices.

If it wasn't for that part of the Apple community, I'd probably left a long while ago. I've never discriminated or outright supported one or the other, was just always satisfied with my iPhone. I love my iPad mini to death, I use the hell out of this thing. But phone wise it was just time for the change

Yea I was just showing you how things changed. I don't mind having to pull down to check the weather or to open an app, takes me a second and I don't really check the weather that much, maybe once every few hours.
