Samsung: Galaxy Note 9 Pre-Order Thread

So I called Samsung and my order placed on the 10th right after orders opened is backordered. So I might get it next week. Way to drop the ball. I can walk over to T-Mobile and just buy it there.

I did the same thing - ordered on the 10th and showing ship date "on week of September 2" so I go the itch to just go pick one up at T-Mo today but have to consider:
1) long lines and might run out of stock anyway
2) 100% financed through Samsung Financing vs. ~50% down with T-Mo
3) Instant credit for my old phone vs. credit applied over 24 mos with T-Mo and
5) If cancel order through Samsung and buy in store today, won't get the promotional pre-order goodies

Thus, I can wait another week.
 
You can't trust Samsung's dates at all. My order still said before the 24th yesterday (ordered 8/12) and was still in processing. When I called the guy said there was no way to tell when I would get my order. The phone said pre-order and the headphones said backorder. They couldn't give me any advice as how to go about getting it or atleast a realistic shipping date. So I canceled it and reordered (hoping it would go in the system right this time) the phone says ships the week of Aug 26 and the headphones say In process for Aug 29 delivery but no tracking # on either. But we will see.
 
You probably shouldn't done that, Android57. Which did you order? I read outside of here that they stocked up quite heavily on the 128GB versions but were not expecting many sales of the 512GB and the number pre-orders were way above their initial stockpile

The estimated ship dates they are currently giving are based on the anticipated arrivals of their incoming shipments so the later you order, the further out the estimated ship date will be (I guess they can only get a certain number of phones per shipment???)
 
Mine was the 128gb blue version. I have seen several and even know people who ordered the same model when and even after I did and already have theirs. I posted early they had told me their was an error with the order on their end and sent it to the support team but never heard back. So something wasn't right with how the order was handle when I placed it. They told me I would get a whole $25 promo card for their screw up but they couldn't do anything about my phone from the department I talked to.
 
I placed an order for the unlocked 512GB (blue) directly with Samsung. They gave me an estimated ship date of 9/30 and I sighed but went through with the order anyway. Well I just happened to check Amazon and they had the 512GB Note 9 bundled with a free Duo charging stand and a Dex stand all for the same $1,249, plus free 1-day shipping! So not only will I get my phone tomorrow (8/25), I’m getting some useful freebies too. I didn’t need those headphones that Samsung was offering anyway. **does happy dance**
 
After trying 3 times to order my Note9 with the duo charger and flip case, I’m through with ordering from Samsung. I tried to add the Connect Care package and the website or app refuses to do so. I attempted to contact the outsourced CSREp and they REFUSE to assist. Your loss SAMSUNG. I’ll acquire from Best Buy.

I saw that also Eddster but did Amazon have a trade in? I am getting 400 for my note 8 and dont want to lose that. Also I went through Samsungs website and did a "new order" with exactly what I ordered on the 22nd and it says shipping the week of 9/9. smdh

I’m with you on that but the unlocked Note 8 variants are going for more than $400 on Swappa so I’ll just sell it there.
 
So mine is scheduled for delivery on Monday but they are requiring a signature. I called FedEx to see if I could sign for it online (can't do that), than I asked if Fedex could hold it so I could come pick it up since I will be at work. Fedex said that they can't hold it because Samsung isn't allowing that. Fedex said that they have to make 3 attempts before it will be held at Fedex. So that means, if no one is home to sign for it, I wouldn't be able to pick it up till Thursday. Anyone have it delievied without a signature or if not, were you able to pick up the phone at Fedex after the first deleivey attempt.

I picked up my S9+ at FedEx, but it was after the first delivery attempt. Just call FedEx up after you miss the first delivery. Never had an issue with this on any package that required a signature.

I would totally do that but my Note 8 is a verizon, not unlocked and has some burn-in. I figure the safest place to trade-in is samsung. I will live through you all vicariously for the next couple weeks! the funny thing is I wasnt even going to upgrade but a coworker was talking about the new features. So, show me the bouncing ball!

That's what I am hoping will happen. Still trying to figure out how I can get someone to be at my place to sign for it.
 
Cancelled my pre-order. Tired of getting jerked around by Samsung. We ordered two Note 9's and trading in our Note 8's. They said they could only process one trade in at a time from the same address. Never heard of that before. We ordered both of these on August 10. Wife got hers, but mine now shows that it wasn't ordered till August 23. And no idea of when the ship date would be. Tried the online chat. Said the wait would be 1-3 minutes. Waited twice for over an hour. Horrible customer service.
I finally said "s*rew it". I'm so upset that I told my wife I'll just wait to see what Apple comes with on September 12. Thanks alot Samsung.
Wow bringing out the big guns (Apple threats). Yikes.

LOL sorry. Was frustrated by the 30 min wait time and his refusal to do something as simple as fix an order as opposed to me having to cancel and reorder. Besides I'd feel better having geek squad protection. if this is what to expect from Samsung support its best I wait and buy my Note9 at BB

Have been on the verge of ordering for over a week now. Too late, Samsung just lost me. Trade in on
S8+ just dropped $100 and S7 Edge by $150. Will just wait for better offers with Verizon or Best Buy.
