Samsung: Galaxy Note 9 Pre-Order Thread

Im still waiting.. order on the 21st direct from sammy a blue 128 was told shipping in 1-3 days. still no movement!!! id cancel and get direct from Tmo but sammy gave me 450.00 off with trade in of my s7....:p

So i was looking at the unlocked version of the note 9 for the US, but i cant tell if it is only CDMA or GSM or if it has both. Does it matter? I have tmobile and i believe they are GSM. How do i tell if if the unlocked note 9 is compatible?

This phone would be from amazon

It works fine on T-Mobile. I ordered one and just popped in my T-Mo sim. It rebooted and I was good to go. Zero problems.

oh i see. ive never bought an unlocked phone. so, it's literally plugging in my current sim card into the new phone and voila? (aside from general setup). and the migration is simple as well?

This is my first unlocked also and even though I let best buy set it up[extra 50 gc] it was easy peasy and the migration took about 20 min.

Yes that's how generally it is. T-Mobile is the most straight forward since you just put your current SIM and everything works out of the box without any activating and all that crap bull****. Other carrier experience may vary since some carrier features may not work but with T-Mobile you are generally good to go.

Migrating data is same irrespective of carrier or unlocked version. However you want to migrate, from cloud backup, manually or any other way it's the same for any version.

The saga continues...
I
had to cancel three different times and each time they sent me a Sorry message. They blamed my bank, but I had eliminated that possibility. It seems that for some reason the first one was flagged that I already had offered my device in trade. All subsequent attempts just added another to the queue for my trade-in, even though I canceled the transactions. I gave up on the jackasses at Samsung and ordered from Amazon. I can trade my phone on another site for only $20 less than Samsung was offering, and I will still get the Headphone deal from Samsung. In addition, I get the Dex (which is redundant based on Note 9 functionality) and another wireless charger including the watch charger. I am supposed to get delivery Monday. One can only hope.

Funny - my Samsung account shows 4 different pending transactions of 4000 points for the purchase. Maybe this time they will err in my benefit and I will get all of the points...LOL
Amazon delivered as promised on Saturday morning. Received the combo wireless charger and Dex. Marne I can sell those...

I don't think I will buy direct from Samsung ever again.

Same here. Not that I have had anything bad happen yet from them but now that Amazon sells unlocked phones right at launch and better freebies I'll just order from them even if it means getting the phone a couple days later. Besides, we only got our phones two days before the official release date. Not like waiting a couple more days will hurt especially with better promos AND a lot better customer service compared to Samsung.com. Or I might try Best Buy too. I like how Samsung now sells unlocked units right at launch.

Let me know what they say because I've already decided that I'm going to either call or email everyday until it gets here. I've never been the complaining type but this whole preorder fiasco is bringing out the worst in me.
Doesn't help that it's a $1200 phone. I mean. I would be calling and emailing, each probably twice a day.

I've got the 128 model and it's great. plenty of space on it.
will do. I have been on hold for almost an hour now....like what.

honestly, im thinking of ditching my 512gb if these a-holes don't tell me a positive answer. t-mobile has the 128gb in stock and i can just buy it. idk if waiting for the 512gb is really worth it.
