Samsung Galaxy Note7 -- Verizon Users

I just switched to Verizon from AT&T. Got the Note 7 and have been really enjoying it. As far as the lag I have noticed that with previous Notes, those with Exynos processors seem to be smoother than those with Qualcom processors. My Note 5 was always smooth. I have noticed some lag with the Note 7 but it hasn't been problematic. I love this smartphone and I'm enjoying Verizon as well.
If you don't mind me asking, why did you switch to Verizon?
Have you noticed any difference in signal strength? Can you use voice and data simultaneously?
I'm on AT&T and contemplating a switch as well.
Thank you

I recently switched to Verizon as well. For me, the reasons were as follows:

  1. Signal Strength - I live in NJ and commute to work every day. There is a stretch of highway near Newark Airport that AT&T simply has trouble with. My first 2 days with the Note 7 and Verizon, I didn't even notice that my bus drove past the trouble spots!! :)
  2. Additional Data - I was paying $100 + $15 per line for 15GB of shared data with AT&T. Verizon's XL plan costs $90 for 16GB of shared data. But Verizon charges $20 per line. Verizon is also giving 2GB of bonus data per line. So my total bill is now $170 for 24GB (instead of $160 for 15GB).
  3. BONUS #1 - Verizon just announced "carryover data" (which is why I was using AT&T in the first place).
  4. BONUS #2 - Verizon is paying me $650 per line to pay off the old devices on AT&T.
  5. BONUS #3 - eBates is giving away $75 per line that you bring to Verizon.
  6. BONUS #4 - If you pay your wireless bill using an AMEX Blue card, AMEX will reimburse you up to $200. (10% off your bill for the remainder of 2016).

Since I had no screen protector because they all fell off...... My phone took a dive yesterday right on asphalt. . And has a nice scratch on it.

Wow!! Thanks for the info!!
I live in the Greater Boston area & have several trouble spots. I have a corporate discount which is the primary reason for my not switching yet. The other reason is simultaneous voice/data.
I can get on a family member's t-mo plan & pay $20.00/mth, but i'm concerned about T-mo's network outside of the city.
I only need two lines (phone & tablet) with an ample data plan.

This is definitely the best phone I have ever used. The only downside of my Verizon Note 7 is the terrible screen protectors. I've gone through four of them and I still haven't found a decent one yet.

Check out post # 44 just 4 posts behind you. I'm ordering mine from Amazon tomorrow. As long as you're not All-THUMBS you can do it. There's a MFG YouTube video too. Oh AND you need p a t i e n c e Young GrassHopper.

Peace. Alan
SORREEEEEEEE.... I meant Post # 43

I added an IQShield clear HD film front and back. This material really is a joy to use the S Pen on and I get to see my gorgeous phone. This is a wet install so if you choose to do as I did, carefully watch the official S7 installation video on You Tube and then be very patient exactly as instructed in the video. The bubbles, etc. really do disappear and unless you look very carefully you can't tell you have a protector on the glass.

What model shield? There's so many - cheap to expensive.

If you activate Advanced Calling on Verizon then you can do voice and data simultaneously.

Ok. The reviews are pretty bad at Amazon 2.5 out of 5 stars from 16 reviews. But I'll Trust Ya! :p

I tried this screen protector and it fell off after two days. :( Waiting to hear some good feedback on another brand before I buy something else.

Don't trust me! I just had one corner come loose. My rating will be changed to reflect this. I apologize for an early optimism that has been crushed. :-\

Sensible. To be honest, I've been on every kind of smartphone since the Palm Treo. And I've never used a screen protector and never had a scratch. Always a case though.

I really, REALLY like your integrity. I hope to match it during my time here at this forum. :)

I'm just in awe of the blue coral lol. I really need to go get a screen protector asap!!! Still rocking the protective film that came on the phone😂 anyone else?

LOL I too am still on the stock protective film. It will work until something RIGHT comes along.

Ok, called Verizon to figure out why my order just said "Processing. Check back later" since I ordered a week ago. Figured they were out of stock or something...I dunno.

The (second) person I talked to was like "WTF it shows up that you ordered, but then it just died in the system or something." She spent about 15 minutes basically redoing my order manually, then said she'd get it overnighted for free, so apparently I'll have it tomorrow.

"I'm sorry you had to go through this", like I had a death in the family or something. I told her it was clearly a first world problem; I wasn't losing any sleep over it.

So...I'm almost in the club.

I used it also, but I found that the S Pen nib didn't glide over it very easily. And since it doesn't go from edge to edge the S Pen nib catches on the edge of the plastic film on both sides when moving an icon for example.
But it is still more protection than nothing.

Ah ok. Is this a paid feature & device specific or available for all phones?
Thanks!

It's a free feature that you can enable on your account online. Not available on all phones but the Note 7 does support it.
