Just registered after reading through all/most of the threads....Mine has just died not rooted i was using it loaded skype and it just hung had to remove battery and now stuck on logo..
After doing a bit of research would reloading firmware using odin be of any benefit? I cant get into factory reset i.e home power and vol up but i can get into custom firmware load so use odin and load original firmware?
Thanks for the link Kelly!

I talked to Samsung support but no joy. They won't help me because the country where I live does not show up on their country list. I bought the phone in the USA and wasted an hour on the phone with USA support.
I am curious to see if flash would work.
One thing seems to be sure, Samsung is not going to replace anything for me at this point in time.

My country is not on any of the lists. But I have not tried their Facebook page yet. That is a great idea. Thanks!

Right odin doesnt work apparently i dont have a pit partition? Whatever that is? So i have gone back top basics...... i have managed to get samsung kies to recognize my phone by using a upgrade and initialize function (this prompted me to upgrade samsung kies). It asks for you model number and serial number and downloads the latest firmware.
I believe is a positive step as at least the PC/Laptop is now recognising the phone in some way and its using the approved (by samsung) method of restoring.
This should take approx 1hr to do so.
I will report back with the findings..Thanks
nope it doesnt recognise the phone even though it has just downloaded the update that corresponds with the attached phone :s......
ok one more thing to try/check need to makesure i have drivers installed for this phone so attach anothers3 and load driver details..
if that doesnt work back to odin i guess...the problem with kies is when it kicks you and says unsuccesful it deletes the temporary download of the firmware so every attempt requires a fresh download of the stock firmware 8minutes each time![]()
such as?any suggestions or links?
People need to read more carefully. The article says this:
This statement would seem to indicate the update to fix the Exynos exploit is not the same as the 4.1.2 update.
The only thing this article says is limited to the international version is the Exynos exploit. Nowhere does it say the sudden death problem is limited to the international version. And as it says directly above, it's "unclear" whether the update solves the sudden death issue.
