Re: Samsung Galaxy S4 - Kies Sync Problems after Latest firmware updates! "unsupported device alert"
The idea to export contacts from Outlook and import them to google contacts is really great. But you see, the only reason to actually use Outlook is to sync my privat contacts which are only stored in my phones to a central place and this place is an Outlook install that sits in my appartment where it hopefully is safe. You see in Germany we have something called "Datenschutz". I am not sure whether this word actually exists in English because English speaking countries do not seem to be that much worried about this issue. Anyway in Germany personal information, i.e. this is information that you have about other people like names, phone numbers, and addresses and all this stuff, is considered private and it is NOT adeqaute to send such information to countries where concepts like "Datenschutz" are basically not know. Therefore, to send this information to Google is a NO GO. However, Kies does not seem to support any other local storage of Contact-Information than Outlook and this is why it is so terribly dissappointing that this thing does not work. What is really unbelievable is that I have on my desktop Kies 2.6 and Kies 3.2 running. While 2.6 happily sncy the contacts of my Galaxy Tab, Kies 3.2 keeps complaining that Outlook does not sem to be the standard mail client and all this ****. I do not have to stress that Kies 2.6 refuses to work with an S3 after the update to Android 4.3. Hey, guys from SAMSUNG you knew in the past how this should work. Why did you forget about it? Did you sack the only programmer who knew how this could be done? Just look at the code in Kies 2.6 and use it again, at least what the connection to Outlook concerns. Is this really so difficult????
