Somebody has just sent me this, saying that Samsung (Netherlands) have announced a Kies3 updated which includes sync. Its out tomorrow (touch wood!).

Apparently it translates as:

We regret that you can not synchronize with Outlook via Choose. Currently your calendar and contacts Indeed true that a select 3 Beta version and that its ability to synchronize not sit here.
On 15 November there will be a new update available Choose what you can download and install, which use the sync function is again.
Until then, we ask for your patience for this.
Hoping to have. Thus sufficiently informed

I had the same problem with my new Samsung galaxy Note 3. Rang Samsung and they were less than helpful. So I downloaded Sync 2 from Play Store. It was on a trial, however it worked like a charm and synced everything within minutes.

I cannot find "SYNC 2". I tried several different ways to search in play store and get the phone book. Who is the publisher or is there possibly a more to the name?

Sync2 is made by Syncdroid by the way. Try the link below.

This sux. I bought this phone on the premise that I could sync with Outlook & now Samsung pulls the plug. Ridiculous. Keep this thread going for updates. Thanks for the help.

Unfortunately, we do not have the exact information about the date of release, however it should be releasing very soon.

Don't know whether anyone else has it, but no update in the UK. Why am I not surprised?

Same issue here, very poor response from Samsung. I just changed from apple because Samsung devices are very good. and syncing was a breeze.
Very disappointed now.
Has anybody had any luck with 3rd party apps?

Samsung Benelux recognizes the missing sync functionality is an issue, but the development of an updated version of Kies3 has some delay... (I suppose we're not surprised!). They keep saying a new version will come and they ask us for some more patience. Unfortunately, no new release date is mentioned. How disappointing... again.

Has anybody had any luck with 3rd party apps?

All of the free apps are terrible. I tried most of them in desperation last week as I run a business using my S4 calendar. I now have thousands of duplicate calendar entries on the S4 and a phone which basically need wiping.

I refuse to try paid-for apps when the reviews are so mediocre.

I have same issues. I came from an iphone so SGN3 is all new to me. I have been trying for 2 months to get my extensive iTunes music library into my N3. Someone suggested I could do it using Windows Media Player. I got the music on the phone but it would not play. Tried Doubletwist, but never got that to work. Samsung suggested Kies 3 which was supposed to solve all my problems, but I have all the issues you note. I have music on my phone, but Kies/pc can't see it. No playlists show in Kies/pc. Documentation for Kies 3 say there should be commands under "file" for import playlists from iTunes and from Windows Media Player, but my Kies/pc does not have those commands. Documentation says there should be a playlist icon next to "Music" in Kies/pc, but I don't have it.
Do I keep using iTunes as my music organizer, create playlists, ect., then import iTunes library and playlists into 3rd party software, and sync from 3rd party software to N3? What 3rd party software should I use?

Any suggestions?

You should really start a new thread for this. Have you tried Tools > Transfer Data from a non-Samsung Device ?

You could also try this tutorial on the Apple website.

I find this so frustrating as there was no warning at all :-( I am unable to synch my contacts with ms office outlook or synch my music.
Hope they fix it soon but not holding my breath

you have to download kies 3 if you have installed the new 4.3 update

Yes it forces you to download kies 3 but there should jave neen a warning saying that kies 3 NO LONGER has a sync function !!! You can only backup & restore, that is all :-(
