Great review. The photos and video recordings for both phones were not even close. This was sad to watch but the M9 did take the lead on battery, speakers, and customization.

They say turning the tables but in reality its just Samsung catching up with regards to build quality/materials. In my eyes the One still bosses the S6 overall - Adam

Yeah, that was stated in the video a few times about Samsung catching up. But HTC has yet to catch up to Samsung in smartphone sales or even come close so HTC has been behind in that regard.

Pocketnow did a great review.

Samsung surpassed the M9's build quality this time.

I am objective.

Also, I doubt the M9's battery life is better than the S6. All objective testing shows the S6 is far ahead of the M9 in terms of battery life. Reviewers are just more excited about the S6, so they're using it more. More use = faster battery drain.
They're probably barely using the M9.
When doing the same exact things, the S6 takes a big lead in battery life.

They can stay behind for all i care if it means they keep providing me with the very best flagship device year on year - Adam

And if HTC stays behind they will go bankrupt like they were about to do around 2 years ago I believe. Then you won't have them to provide you with anything for the foreseeable future.

Don't really have a horse in this race, except to say quit peddling this GSMArena garbage lol

I'm so torn. It's hard to walk away from HTC. They just can't seem to do anything right anymore.

I had really hoped for HTC to do well with the M9. I think they missed a lot of big opportunities with this phone, but hopefully with their change in management, they will wake up and smell the roses for next year. I hope the HTC M9 Plus comes to the states. That is the phone HTC should have introduced at their keynote

Personally, I think Samsung beat HTC this year

Samsung didn't beat HTC, they whooped them. Coming from someone who only has ever purchased HTC phones. I can admit it. But I refuse to buy a phone that's below my standards and was thrown together at the last minute.

I'm expecting a duo rear camera next year with HTC using a 13 MP camera this time around. They can make a comeback. The black bar everyone hates (doesn't bother me) and the speaker grilles will be hardly even noticeable. But knowing HTC, they will just do the opposite of what I said..LOL

Your battery post is going to set off a war in this thread..lol. People here hate it if you tell them the M9 doesn't walk on water battery, camera, or functionality wise.

Lol thats HTC for you. If I were HTC, I would capitalize on their camera and speakers. Sense is not bad, but if HTC continues with their surround Dolby speakers (which probably sound amazing in headphones), an QHD screen, and awesome low light camera, with above average battery, they will be the phone to beat next year. I also want them to change the design to something that doesn't look like their last 3 generations of phones lol

I agree with most of what you said. But just to be clear Samsung only changed the material of the phone not the design. The design looks like the last 3 generations. HTC M10 will be the same material and a different design. At least it better be.

I love HTC as shown in my past posts. it hurt(a little) but had to walk. i wanted a bigger phone and the lack of m9+ forced my hand right to the note 4. i'm a happy camper.
