Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Car Mode?

Coming from an HTC One M8, and really excited to get this new Edge phone. Does anyone know anything about a car mode? A driving UI is pretty important to me and I can't find any information on what it looks like, assuming it exists.

There is a Car Mode available on the Galaxy app store, but it is pretty awful with no custimizability. HTC is hard to beat when it comes to theirs and that is the primary thing I miss from my M8! However, there is an app on the Play store called Drivemode that I would recommend. While it isn't quite as good as the HTC native app, it is still pretty good and works well with swiping from the edge display ! Let me know if you come across anything else in the store that you prefer once you get your phone.

I use Maps regularly, but prefer some larger drive-friendly UI when not in Maps. As Juju said above, HTC has a pretty good solution, so the native offerings of Samsung might be a step back. Drivemode seems like pretty good solution for this need.

I'm disappointed, my S6 worked fine connecting with BT but my S7 Edge will not connect to the audio portion of my Kenwood deck.
It will add and work for calls and contact list, but no music or maps or any other connectivity

I found the car mode app that used to be on my s5 that was great. If you
Click on the Galaxy Apps icon
Search for Car Mode
It comes up Car Mode (for Galaxy)

(2) If I have Car Mode set up in the car & phone, and for calls/messages/music, and then open Waze to use that for navigation....will anything change for Car Mode? or any other complications?

It's not in the store anymore. I had installed it as above on my gs7 but was having issues so I was going to go with a fresh install. It's not in the store anymore. What gives? Anybody have alternative app suggestions?

Try Drivemode.

You can download the HTC car apk, and sideload it onto your phone (search and download the file thru google, it wont work installing from google play). I have it on mines and outside of weather not displaying, its perfect. A hidden trick provided your head unit is mirrorlink compatible (pioneer 4000nex in my case), exiting the HTC car app gives me full mirroring and touch control of my phone thru the head unit.

Car mode basically looks a lot like extreme power saving mode or windows phone where the home screen is large tiles. On the HTC you can customise these to suit your preference so say have maps and spotify. The great thing about it is it's easier to navigate apps whilst driving as opposed to messing about with an app drawer which obviously would be pretty dangerous.

Do you have to root your phone or ...? The the phone have to be plugged into the stereo 1st? I have installed several apks for HTC car on a Samsung GS7 but the app will not load.

Don't bother. Now that Android Auto works on any phone, it's best in class, IMO. Haven't looked back since. Give it a try.

Car mode sucks.. there is no google maps availability
