Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge - Trying to figure out a feature

Alright, so I know this is going to sound silly, but I've been trying to Google it, and search for it, and I'm coming up empty handed. Just got my S7 Edge, and earlier when messing with the phone, I notice this little pull out menu on the side, when I opened it, it's like a bubble with a recent text in it, with options to reply/call. I'm trying to figure out what this is, I thought it just did it for texts that haven't been replied to, but it hasn't popped up again since. I don't know if this feature has been around since the S6, or if it's just an edge specific or S7 specific thing.

I hate having to make a thread here for this, because I'm sure that if I knew what to Google, I could find the info I'm looking for really easily. But when I have no clue what it's called, I'm having the hardest time trying to figure it out. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Verizon. It's probably the coolest feature I have seen so far, I was meaning to take a screenshot, but I just assumed it would happen all the time.

It's a pretty cool feature. Just have to assign contacts.

Must be only applicable to the Samsung messaging app. I've got three texts from people on my tab and no tab slider.

Yeah, it's pretty awesome. You get these little bubbles whenever the people you have selected text you. It's even color coded to each individual person. I'm loving it.

Mine still isn't working can you screen shot it if you get a chance. When I get a text from it just appears as a pop up on the top I don't see any bubbles. Is the screen off?

Yes! When the contacts text you that you've selected to have in your "people edge" this will happen. You can tell who texted you becuase the little handle is the same color as their icon. I'm on AT&T. I wish I could put more contacts...

I think I figured it out. I linked contacts in my contacts. When I moved phones it unlinked them.

I believe it works with Message + too.
