Dear Experts

How can I do a backup to my Smasung Galaxy S7 with its screen broken can see nothing and touch doesn't work as well.

I can't use SideSync because I can see nothing on the phone screen

Though phone is still accessible via Windows PC and USB cable.

Is copying files from phone to the PC would be a proper backup ?

Thanks

Unfortunately for SideSync (not for back up but at least you'd be able to see the screen and manipulate the phone) or for SmartSwitch (proper back up program) to work, you need to unlock the phone, and if your screen is damaged, that's gonna be difficult (unless you don't have a lockscreen set up, then you're good!).

If you can still connect it to a PC and just copy the files, then that's a good back up of your personal files and media. For contacts, apps, settings, etc., you can either use SmartSwitch or if you were already syncing to either your Google or Samsung account, then those are already backed up and ready to be restored when you activate a new device with those accounts (not that the apps are just re-downloaded, unless using SmartSwitch, but most app data will not be backed up unless you use a third party app like Titanium Backup).
