Samsung Galaxy S7 'sleeps'

Hi Everyone,

My phone only connects for calls and wifi when I swipe the screen to wake it which means I miss calls and messages until I do wake it and then the messages all come through at once but there is no missed calls but voicemails if anyone left one.

Does this happen every time or when the phone has been dormant for a while?
