Samsung Galaxy tab 2 10.1 running slow

Samsung Galaxy tab 2 10.1 model # GT-P5113 running slow to the point of frustration. Tried all recommended cleaning apps to no avail. Playing any games is impossible. Any recommendations short of rebooting? And will rebooting help? I know I will have to start from ground zero, but at this point!

Rebooting refers to switching off the tablet and simply restarting it.While it does clear the running apps it dies not improveperformance. Are you not confusing it with a factory data reset? Here is a link to the process

That will restore your tab 2 to as new(except fir a fairly used battery by now)
