Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 Screen Mirroring problem

Re: Samsung Galaxy tab 3 10.1 Screen Mirroring problem

your TV would have to support miracast. there may be settings you need to adjust with your tv if it supports miracast.

Re: Samsung Galaxy tab 3 10.1 Screen Mirroring problem

I was encountering the same struggle as everyone on this thread. I did get it to work, with no help from Samsung tech support or the Samsung sales rep at Best Buy. I had to do three things first in order to make the Samsung MHL Adapter to work.
- The first thing to do is change one of the settings of your HDMI TV. I have a LG TV that supports a feature called Simplink which is intended to communicate with other LG components via the HDMI port. This apparently is not compatible with MHL. Your TV may have a similar feature but calls it as something else. Once I did this step my TV recognized an active device on the HDMI port but I wasn't able to get the tablet to work yet.
- The second thing to do is to change a setting in the Samsung Tab 3 10.1" to allow Media Sharing via DLNA. To change this you need to go to Settings>More Settings>Allowed devices list and accept the your device. Then you need to restart your tablet.
- Finally, depending on the vintage of your TV you may need to use a power adapter to the MHL device. Newer TV's provide power via the HDMI cable while older TV's require you to use the power adapter.

Hope this helps. Good luck and hopefully Samsung will read this and educate their sales and tech support staff.

Can you link me to which MHL adapter you purchased?

Re: Samsung Galaxy tab 3 10.1 Screen Mirroring problem

I have samsung galaxy tab 3 8.0 and a 40inch samsung smart 3d led tv with built in allshare play and allshare cast for the screen mirroring from my samsung galaxy tab 3 8.0 ive had nothing but connection problems and when i finally get connected and i turn my tab 3 8.0 into landscape mode it doesnt come up full screen on my tv it has the black bars about 1-1.5inch at left and right side of the screen but it works fullscreen with an s3 in landscape mode fullscreen flawlessly i think that allshare cast and just the plain old screen mirroring option on the tab 3 8.0 are not the same this is just one of the many draw backs that samsung has and when i rang up they passed through every technical department that i got no where and that samsung dont even understand there own products and certainly not allshare cast or screen mirroring my tv is a samsung ue40f6320 anyone out with the same or similar problem.then please post a comment cheers

How do you like your samsung 40" TV? I'm thinking of getting exactly the same model

Re: Samsung Galaxy tab 3 10.1 Screen Mirroring problem

I'm sorry I never read this thread before buying a Samsung UA55F6400AM smart TV instead of the Sony just because of the Screen Mirroring option with my Galaxy TAB3 10.1.
After a very long time on the phone to Samsung support, It turns out it can't be done.
They originally assured me it would be very easy.

I don't know if you are still working on this issue but I did find an app that seems to work for display only. It is called MirrorOp Sender for Galaxy. I haven't tried devices such as Apple TV yet but it is streaming to PCs running both Windows 8 and Windows 7. Downfall, sound still runs on Tablet.
AllCast ap works for just video, pictures and music (had to really work to find that because AllShare is not compatible with the Tab 1, 2, or 3 but only the Note and Nexus tabs). AllCast connected right up to my Xbox360 and functioned well but I cannot mirror and cannot stream.
If someone wants to develop an app for the Tab 1, 2 and 3 to connect to any CloudCast, ChromeCast, whatevercast, that would be very helpful and much appreciated.

I recently bought 3 Samsung galaxy tab 3 10.1's and I've encountered the same problem.
DLNA works but no remote display (miracast) in the display settings! That's a real shame and I feel swindled by Samsung!

edit: I have just tested the app wifi display and this app digs up the hidden remote display menu. It shows the miracast client but as soon as you try to connect to this remote display, Android starts to reboot! So still damn trouble in miracast paradise with Samsung!

I have the same problem, i just buy a tab3 10.1 and i don.t know how to have samsung link or screen mironing. Can anyone know a solution now for this problem, maybe a device to make that happen or something , i have a samsung smart tv and i dont understand why tab 8 have this and 10.1 no! Please some one whith any information subscribe

There is no Miracast option for the Tab 3 10.1. The only way you can mirror your desktop is by buying the HDMI dongle from Samsung, this of course brings a whole new bag of problems, it only supports 720P, the screen looks like absolute garbage on your TV, there are two large black bars on either side of the screen and the even though the dongle requires power it doesn't charge the unit while plugged in, all that for 50 bucks. It does however bump the resolution up to 1080P when using the built in video player to watch movies, just click the AllSharing button. The only saving grace to this otherwise useless accessorie.

To be absolutely frank, the Tab 3 10.1 is a piece of junk. There is only 300MB of free memory available upon a fresh restart do to the freakishly large memory consuming TouchWiz. The Intel processor is not optimized properly for TouchWiz resulting in a very laggy experience. There is only 1GB of memory when this tablet obviously needs 2GB. There is no screen protection like Gorilla Glass so the screen scratches if you breath on it. Just a horrible tablet and to add insult to injury the superior Nexus 10 is not only the same price now but has a built in HDMI which automatically mirrors the display the second a HDMI cable is plugged in and its full HD, has 2GB of RAM, 2560 x 1600 vs. the outdated 720P resolution found on the Tab 3 and a much better build quality . My suggestion to you is sell this thing and buy a Nexus 10 or any other tablet for that matter, you will just continue to be frustrated. I owned the Tab 3 10.1 for all of 5 hours before I returned it the very same day. The customer service rep told me that this is a very common accurance with this tablet. Stay away from Samsung's mid-tier tablets in general, there a waste of money in a sea of great products. The new Tab 4 actually still has a resolution of 1280 x 800, for 400 dollars, Samsung is blatantly ripping their customers off here. Especially when you can have a Samsung Pro 8.3 with a resolition of 2560 x 1600, 2GB RAM, Qualcomm 800 CPU and Miracast for 360 dollars, utterly blowing away the 400 dollar Tab 4 10.1.

Yes, yes, a lot of you love these tablets, their super fast, no problems, etc. Hey that's great but I'll pass thank you, I have something called good buyers sense. Did you know the Tab 3 8 actually has a 3 1/2 year old CPU, the early 2011 Tab 7.7 and Tab 7 Plus has the same CPU or how the Tab 3 7 is the only tablet on the market that still uses 1024 x 600 as a resolution and don't forget about the absolutly anemic Marvel CPU in it, man I can go on forever as to why these things are just horrible, aaaaahhhhh.

Just to throw in my frustrations, I just got the S4 Mini from Sprint. I also have the Sprint Tab 3 7.0. The processor and the RAM are the same. The S4 Mini supports screen mirroring and the Tab 3 7.0 LTE doesn't. Makes no sense whatsoever!

Color me disappointed :-(

Re: Samsung Galaxy tab 3 10.1 Screen Mirroring problem

Tab 3 10.1 doesn't have Screen Mirroring . The menu doesn't have it that means the tablet doesn't support this function.
I don't have Smart Samsung TV, but my old Samsung TV works fine with Allshare Cast Dongle HDMI wireless adapter
This is from a Galaxy Tab 3 8.0:

Hey guys, I very recently bought a Samsung Galaxy tab S3 with 7.0 Nougat on it. After looking up everything I could on Smart view, I reset my network settings and turned on quick connect then viola! Hope it helps.
