Samsung galaxy tab 3 8.0 keeps rebooting when sd card is on

Greetings everyone,

I have purchased my tablet a few months ago, along with an 32 G sd card. It has been working fine until now. The tablets kept rebooting automatically and it only stopped when I removed my SD card. So my question is: What happened? Is the SD card corrupt in some way? Should I reformat it? I have never rooted my device btw.
