How can I stop it defaulting to the 'most played' folder or 'most popular' and ending up playing the same few tracks over and over?

I've also noticed now that some of my music keeps disappearing from my library in Samsung music. It's never done this and usually my favorite player.

I think you should go to Samsung Music Settings, click on Manage Tabs and then select accordingly.
