Samsung Music Player crashing

Everytime I try and go to the artists tab it crashes and says music has stopped working. This has been happening for a couple months now. Anyone know a fix ?

I had the same problem back then. But i managed to fix it. A corrupted song or mp3 file might cause the music app crashing. You have to find 1 by 1 to see which is corrupted and delete it. In the file manager app, i saw a strange mp3 file named Test.mp3 . I deleted it and it solved the problem.

Before trying the method above, try clearing the app's cache to see if it fixes the crashes.

You could try enabling, "Developer options", see #1.8 of S5 Lollipop Update Problems - Dummies Guide for how to do this. Then you can select, "Use NuPlayer (experimental)", instead of the, "AwesomePlayer", then reboot your phone and see if that helps at all.

My bad!

I was answering a video player problem on another forum and switched to this one and did not put my brain into gear. That last post is for video player and not media.

Try clearing the cache and data from the Music Player app, as per #1.5 of S5 Lollipop Update Problems - Dummies Guide and see if that helps.
