Samsung Note 7 Itch Anyone?

I guess we can retire this thread now:D
The recall? Why, Samsung the 1st company to have recalls? Apple had 3 separate recalls on its iPhones. It happens, send it back and get a brand new one. What's bad about that?

None of Apples small recalls have ever been of this magnitude... so this really isn't anything like this.

One would have to be a major diehard fan of the Note series (millions actually) or extremely gullible to want to even consider getting rid of the 6p and getting a Note 7 right now with all the issues going on with it... Now in a couple of months.. OK I can see picking up one of the 2.5 million refurbished units for cheap... Because you know that they're going to have one heck of a fire sale on them... Lol

The phones got issues. That's the bottom line. Those "itching" will want them sorted out before they fork that kind of cash on one. That's just the reality. Samsung in damage control right now. Don't kid yourself. They are doing the right thing but it will take a couple months at least for this to blow over and by then other options will enter the market (iPhone, Nexus, etc) and the window they have to themselves to gain traction releasing early will fade.

The Note 7 is hot. It exploded into the market. Sales are scorching. It lit a fire under many to get it.

I'm happy without carrier bloat myself. Too happy honestly to think about going back to a carrier branded phone. I love Fi.

All of iPhones recalls are so minor compared to this Note 7 fiasco...yes it's a fiasco, huge, massive...Samsung will feel the ramifications. And what perfect timing, right before iPhone 7 launch too lol

But like what does all this mean really?
Samsung will replace your phone with a new one. Take it to the store in a week and leave with a sealed box. who gives a **** how Samsung is going to get a hit as long as you as a customer is being taken care of?

I think he meant future sales. Early adopters are already the converted.

Some will not care, especially Samsung fans. But the larger general public have a stigma now, I mean non phone fans at work heard this situation and are already saying "wow, I will question buying a Samsung now...". Whether that's absurd to us or not, when things like this blow up it gives a lot of people doubts...that doubt can cost a lot of money and potential market share.

Fair enough. Recalls happen all over and among so many companies. From cars, to electronics, to food and everything in between. People will be forgetting about this soon enough.

Agreed, if anything Recalls are a better scenario cause you dont have to battle for an exchange. I am sure it will blow over in time but right now its a hot topic, unless iPhone 7 somehow messes up bad it will stick for a little.
