Samsung Note 7 Itch Anyone?

Is it that hard for Google and Samsung to work out a Galaxy Note or Galaxy S Google edition. That's the only thing holding up the perfect android phone. So no, I don't have the Note 7 itch.

Yeah. Note 5 on AT&T and I didn't get MM until June of this year and my battery life actually got worse. This was the main reason I got a 6P.

I have no intention of splashing out £700 for a Note 7, I've had both the Note 3 & 4 in the past & in the UK at least they where extremely slow in updating the simfree version, the UK mobile networks got updates months before the simfree Notes saw them.

I've had my 6P since May this phone has been brilliant, I have no intention of getting rid of it even for this year Nexus which tbh from what I've seen upto now I'm not to impressed with.

I wouldn't pay upfront for it either. The T-Mobile monthly payment plan, which is interest free and offers Jump on Demand makes it worthwhile for someone like me, who is a gadget nut, and switches phones, or has more than one at any given time. Not the smartest move in the world fiscally, but its my weakness.

A note 7 itch, no I'll pass.

Sure it's a good looking phone, so is the Note 5 but in all honesty there are a lot of good looking phones these days.

I'm not gentle on my phones and I went to using tempered glass screen protectors which need perfectly flat screens for the adhesive to work properly and not give distortion of the screen and to stay on well. You can't get this on the note 7.

Carrier bloat.. Sure you can disable a lot of it especially with Disabler Pro, but some of it you can't without causing issues with the phone. I'm not sure what the European model has on it, but there has always been big differences.. I'm in the USA so I can't use one.

Lag.. Lol.. Sammy fans love to try to tell you that their new toy has no lag and that is a total crock. The last good note I had that didn't lag was the Note 2 and only because it was rooted and running a custom rom and kernel.. That is the only way you can get rid of the Touch Wiz lag.. and I've had plenty of the Galaxy line back to the Captivate and the Note 2,3,and 5.. While it's no where near as bad, it still lags and will show up in a month or two..

I know everyone has different experiences, wants, desires, preferences, needs, expectations and such and no one will ever be the same, so if you have a itch for one, scratch it if you are so compelled, maybe it will be everything you need to quell the urge... For me the Note series no longer provides me with relief I have to upgrade.

I've never owned a Nexus phone before, but have been lucky enough to have several friends and colleagues who do, so I have seen and used them before. I am fully aware that they aren't feature packed phones with the latest new thing that needs to be disabled to get the best battery life as what is being recommend like the 7 is here on AC..I no longer have a itch to have to start disabling software first thing on my phone.. But that's just me... I plan on actually adding useful things to my device that makes it more efficient and effective for me. I also plan on getting updates as soon as they are available which will not happen if I bought a 7.. So for my itch the 6p is going to be my relief.

Your a Nexus owner who has a itch to try a locked down phone, which I think is rather humorous since I am currently coming from locked down phones with all of the features your interested in.. I've had unlocked phones before and have had to flash them to get them to work the way I wanted them, and now my itch is to start doing it again, because the features offered come with big strings attached to them and you will find out soon enough if you elect to scratch that itch..

You'll probably have 14 days to try it, so go ahead and see if it's what you really want.. After all it sure is a pretty phone to look at..

Got my Nougat update late Monday, my 6p is even more fluid than before, battery life seems a touch better than on Marshmallow. I've had this phone for about 6 months now and I never gave it a second thought but I've not disabled any apps in all that time and this device is still as good as the day I got it, it's never let me down, no hiccups, no stuttering, no bloatware... Bugger the note 7,you can shove it where the sun don't shine😂

I've had both a Nexus 6P and an S7 Edge. I also found the 6P to be much better on Nougat. However, I sold my 6P today, and will be selling my S7 Edge for the Note7. It's not the right or wrong decision. It's just my decision at the moment, and I may well regret it. It was a very difficult decision. But ultimately the screen on the Note7, it's relatively small size, it's ergonomics, and the S-Pen functionality convinced me after a few days of usage. I'd say that the screen is even better than any screen Samsung has made to date. Its better than the S7 Edge screen - really incredible to look at and use. But its slower and more laggy than the 6P. I've decided that at least for now, I'm willing to live with that for the rest.

I have the Note 7 and am starting to experience some buyer's remorse. The lag on the Note 7 is offensive. The only reason I bought it was my 6p does not get a strong consistent signal while on Verizon. I may return the Note and just deal with the weak phone signal.

My itch has now been scratched! Got my Black Onyx Note 7 yesterday. Got it Ghost Armored today given the Gorilla Glass 5 issues. Loving it! While I enjoyed my 6P with Dirty Unicorns on it, I find stock Android to be a bit lacking in features. I really missed my S-pen when I replaced my Note 5 with the 6P.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is Ghost Armored? Can you post a link to it? Thanks.

I looked it up - so it's not glass - how does it feel compared to the original screen?

Seems that lots of folks with the Snapdragon 820 version are in the same boat with the lag and not just with Verizon. I wonder if it's a QC issue with it or something that the carriers have done with their bloat ware?

I did have a Sprint one that my coworker just got yesterday and truth be told the way it looks in a case is such a major turn off too me I just looked at it and handed it right back... He is happy with it so I'm happy for him..

Ive just got my 6P today and love it, but I couldnt justify £900 (UK) for a phone with a Pen in it, plus.. TW is the Disney of phone skins.. ughh.. Why not just buy a Note 4.. amazing OIS camera, stunning big display, removable battery.. and its only £300 (about $450).. and with rest you could go on holiday or do/buy something else...

To me, Note 4 or Note 7... its the emprors cloths

£900? £699 most places.

Also didn't verizon mess with the software on the note 7 along with their classic bloatware? They can't help themselves...another reason to hold off...

I don't notice the film at all when using my finger on the screen. It's just barely noticeable when using the S-pen. It's almost invisible too. I'm happy with it. You get 7 days to return for a full refund so I gave it a shot.

They did, they kept settings menu of old... The one that has about thirty options. Verizon also took away Sam's maintenance software. Meh, not a huge deal...

all this said I would use one in conjunction with my Nexus 6p if given a freebie haha. that is an expensive piece of hardware that note 7.

Completely done with Samsung or carrier locked Bloated devices. They make well designed equipment but as I said the Bloat completely ruins the device.
My Nexus 6P with Android N7 works great super fast it seems more days of use the battery seems to improve.

Now we can hope that HTC will keep the quality That Huawei achieved with the 6P.
With Next gen Nexus device.

I really want S-pen features but I don't know if I could ever trust Samsung with updates. Here's hoping another OEM tries to make a Note alternative.
