Hi
Samsung Notes related question, up until a while back I was able to see only notes created in that app and then I can't remember whether I changed anything I am now seeing also documnts of any sort, even word document that I have in my Downloads folder and I am not too happy about. I have checked in the app settings but I cant see any or anyway to revert in only seeing my notes. I have a feeling that my last synch to the samsung account might have done this I dont know where to look and whether is possible to revert it.
Thanks for your help.

welcome to AC. confirming: you can have a Word doc (your example) in your downloads folder and see it in Notes? are you able to open it from Notes? it sounds to me like you accidentally shared the doc to Notes.

Thanks, there is more to this, every other docs in download folder are now visible in Notes, this was not the case before.

In the Samsung Notes settings, there is an option to import S Note files from the Download > Samsung Notes folder on your phone. Do you have such a folder in your Downloads on your device?
I dont see that option but strangely when I go to Settings/Folders it says 18 but I cannot click onto it and choose, I have in the mean time reset the app from default viewer and blocking access to folders but I still see those PDF's and Word files which by carefully looking they were not in the Download folder but looking at it one by one, those where attached to emails. I have removed them anyway as dont need them. I think it should behave now.

I am still a bit puzzled though as to what these 18 Folders (greyed out) are related too.

sounds like a plan. I've never run across greyed out folders in Notes. I'd be checking all over the place, lol. see if you have anything in the trash in Notes. might give you a clue. Additionally, what phone and OS are you using? I remember back in the day a folder in internal storage that said S Notes or Samsung Notes. That folder appeared when you saved an individual note as a file. Since I don't do that any longer, I don't have that folder.

It's a Samsung A12 with OS version 12 the folder where notes are supposed to be is \Internal storage\Android\data\com.samsung.android.app.notes but the content is empty (only browsable via PC along the entire Android\data folder) One additional thought is that the reason those files were showing in notes is that might have selected the app when opening those email attachments (PDF, Word files)

That happened to me. I started using Samsung Notes to open my .pdfs & .docs as I was tired of Microsoft. I then decided that when I opened Samsung Notes, it looked too cluttered. (It was just the files I had previously opened.)
