Samsung Pay Discussion

Re: Samsung Pay?

Any word on Chase? Can't seem to find reliable information and I'm dying to use SP!

Re: Samsung Pay?

Works like a charm for me. People always ask what kind of phone I have because they've never seen any phone that can pay pretty much at any terminal.

Re: Samsung Pay experiences...

.

don't think it will work at most gas stations.... the Shell that I usually go to has this weird card swiper. as soon as the debit/credit card(or in my case, the Shell gas-only business credit card) enter the slot, a motor or something inside pulls the card in and keeps it there for 5 seconds before spitting it back out... then the screen shows "authorized" and filling can start.

Does your card have the chip in it? I know my Citibank card does and when I use it, the, the slot grabs the card and holds it for a few minutes. I have that same card connected to Samsung pay as well as my US Bank and they both work without any issues.

Same here. My US Bank cards have chips and they work fine.

I actually wrote Samsung on this (I don't know why, I knew I'd get the standard response), and I got the standard response. :)
They don't know and won't comment.

I have another card in SP, but it's not my preferred card.
I've had SP since it first dropped, but I keep forgetting to use it!

Re: Samsung Pay?

So over last week or so that I have had SP on Verizon, I have used it at bunch of locations (Target, McDonalds, Vending Machines, etc) and its worked flawless.

Yesterday I thought I will try it at Costco...when I put it next to the terminal it gave an "card read error" however the cashier told me that it went through and printed the receipt. I know others have had issues like this where it gives error but transaction actually goes through. Does anyone has any update on why this happens.

Is chase going to support samsung pay???

What the heck - one of the largest banks in the country and I can't find any solid updates about whether they are on board..........!!!

Loving my Note 5!!!

Re: Is chase going to support samsung pay???

I asked and was told that they are evaluating it.
Having two bank accounts (different banks) I can still use it. It's what the rest of the pay systems should have been.
Should become an Android standard.

It takes time for banks to get on board. It will come in time -- I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: Samsung Pay?

Well just an update, I tried it again and I didn't have to use my pin this time so I guess it just depends on the store. On another note none of my transactions are listed in the SP app itself. Weird but at least it works.

Are both Samsung Pay and Google\Android Pay, secure? My bank card wasn't recognized by Samsung Pay. I've added it to Android Pay. Maybe I'll try it one day.

Used Samsung Pay for the first time today. It worked at Whole Foods Market, but not at Costco. Had to enter my PIN.

Both are very secure. More so than handing a stranger your credit card. Each transaction is different using tokenization, which generates a random number for each transaction. I use it almost exclusively now. Works at almost everywhere I've tried it. Except Lowe's, which even they said it should work.

I used it at Costco yesterday. Even though terminal gave me an error transaction went through in the first try. However I use it with credit card not debit card.

Is there anything the cashier has to do before I put my phone up to the card reader?

Have used Samsung Pay twice. Works like a champ. Would like to see Chase get on board right away. Would use this all the time if they did. I am a Verizon customer and I am not very happy that Samsung did not extend the wireless charger offer for those of us on Verizon. Offer expired before I could even get the app. Pretty lame if you ask me.......
