Samsung Pay

Sometimes, if you hold your phone by the reader too long, it doesn't like it. I typically hold it there 2-3 seconds, pull it away for a couple seconds to see if it registered, then put my phone near it again if it didn't.
I used it at the golf course this morning and the guy working there (early 20's) said he'd never seen anyone use it here before.
And fyi itll work just fine at Best Buy. Depending on the car wash card swipe setup it may work there. We have a do yourself carwash with the slider there it hasnt worked for me but the bigger ones that you pay at register it has worked

Samsung Pay is truly brilliant. I use it everywhere. My bank now allows it at ATMs and I've noticed more gas pumps accepting NFC payments now also. I actually feel safer using that versus actually swiping my credit/ debit cards.

Will be nice to use it at the atm ! Qe cant yet in our area

It failed at a FedEx store this afternoon. Of course, I was all cocky about it working even though they don't accept NFC payments, and it then it fails!

There's a couple factors involved sometimes it's the cashier error or if you hold the phone on there too long possibly too short or you put the phone up there at the wrong point of the sale just takes a little bit of practice it should work for you. Mine worked at Home Depot it worked at Walmart and several other places that people have had issues at I think it's a matter of practice and timing I would try it again if I were you if you need to go there again soon

The slot is in a strange place on the machines at this FedEx locations - it's in the middle. So I'm not sure I placed it quite right. Either way, I'll keep trying :)

Works on monitor sliders too, but the cashier has to make sure it's ready for "a card" then it should work. I've even gotten it to work at Chipotles .

True. I always just tell the cashier I'm using credit. That way the machine is ready. Dont normally have issues. Every once in a while if it doesn't work on the first try it go through on the second.

The neatest time it worked for me was a couple years ago I had the 7 edge. It worked in a mall store that had a very old keyboard card slider. They were just blown away. Love the look I got lol.

I've had Samsung pay not work in two check outs so far. It's also worked at others. This morning at Starbucks the guy ringing me up used Samsung pay before so he was willing to try a few times. I have two cards, and neither were working, and I was getting card denied. One card is a credit card, the other is a bank checking card that can be used as either credit or debit.

Any ideas? I'm going to try again tomorrow morning at the same place. I read that the person ringing you up might need to select credit instead of debit. Love it when it just works.

**EDIT**
Just tried it again at Starbucks, and asked for them to ring me up with a credit card. Worked with no issues! So happy this works. I used to use it on my Note 5, but stopped using it since I couldn't tie it to my checking account. Now that we can use PayPal and I have my checking account tied to that, I am good to go.

My Paypal debit is attached to my checking, and that PayPal card is in Samsung Pay. I use it probably 99% of the time.

is there any possible way to remove the tab for favorite cards from the home screen but still use the finger gestures to open the favorites? I ask because I keep accidentally open Samsung pay when I'm trying to use my nav bar.

Likes like you can set it up open up favorites with the fingerprint

But when you remove the tab from the home screen the finger gesture no longer opens the favorites.
Qell the finger gesture should open it when touching the fingerprint sensor. Maybe Nova Launcher can do it. They have specific gesture options. What launcher do you use

Nova prime. I'll check in there to see if I can remove the tab but still have access to it easily from the home screen

figured it out for the time being, just remapped the swipe down gesture to open Samsung pay, and disabled the button at the bottom of the home screen for it. and I also have the swipe down on the fingerprint reader to open the notification bar

Yeah this is what I wanted from this, remove the fav card from bottom of the home screen and instead use fingerprint gestures. But with out having it on the home screen, fingerprint gestures for bringing up Samsung pay can't be enabled which is dumb.
And another thing I hate Samsung pay is why do I need to open Samsung pay to make a payment? With Google pay and Apple pay I just take the phone near the payment terminal and Google pay or Android pay automatically pops up, you authenticate and good to go.
I appreciate Samsung pay works with non NFC terminal payments but years using all these, I prefer Samsung pay the least in terms of ease of usability.
