Android Central Question

Hello,

I connect my phone to my laptop with a cable and then I cut and pasted some videos and photos onto my lap top into a new folder on my desktop.

However the files are now suddenly very big on my laptop - each JPEG is around 8gb and none the videos or photos will open.

Can anyone help me please?

Because you did a cut instead of a copy, things may be lost for good. If nothing else, consider this a hard lesson learned. Always copy and paste, never cut and paste (or "move" if using a file manager on the phone). You should also set up some sort of minimum backup solution. Google Photos is free and works well, but does have some quality/resolution limitations unless you buy their original quality storage plan.

For now, the best I can offer is to try and do the "paste" command again on your computer into a new folder and see what pops up. If those photos and videos were the last thing you cut or copied, they may still be in your computer's memory if you haven't shut it down. It's a shot in the dark, and may just paste the same corrupted files even if they are still there.
