Samsung ripped Note 20 buyers off in 2020...

I haven't used any of my AKG buds.

I can understand why companies are no longer including some accessories. Even the Tip & Tool for the Note I can't recall using it once.
Yeah , no tips ,headphones, otg adapter
haven't had to use them except headphones but nice to have , the box is looking more empty lol. ..Like save money and skip the literature they give and keep the other stuff . Hope they don't stop on the chargers be a bummer.

I feel Samsung ripped us off this year with all the cost cutting and downgrades.

Let's see what they removed or downgraded. I'm referencing the Note 20 Ultra.

-Major downgrade from 256gb to 128gb
-Big downgrade in charging speed from 45w to 25w
-Big downgrade in the front camera from 40mp to 10mp
-Big downgrade in extra memory when you buy the extra storage. 12gb instead of 16gb that you got with the Note 10 and S20 Ultra
-Removal of the factory installed screen protecter

Not so important but other cost cuts
-no AKG headphones
-No S pen tip removal tool
-No S pen tip replacements

Don't get me wrong, the Note 20 Ultra is the best phone in the world but with so several downgrades & cost cuts along with the biggest price increase in Note history, I feel we were all sheep this year like our iPhone friends. Samsung is testing the limits in how much they can charge us along with cost cuts. This reminds me of 2015 with the Note 5 when so many features were removed. That was the only Note since the Note II I didn't own.

I'm sure a lot of this has to do with Qualcomm forcing Samsung to buy 2 chips because of the 5G which really doesn't make sense since the mid-level chips have modem and CPU on 1 chip. As one of the biggest phone manufacturers in the world Samsung shouldn't have let Qualcomm do this.

I feel like Samsung ripped us off in 2020. We're sheep this year but I'm optimistic that 2021 will be much better with a 5nm SOC Snapdragon

Note to Samsung. Keep your free accessories and put that money into a phone with specs to the max.

Hey to each their own I don't think any cell phone is worth the money. Also there should be a lemon law for electronics. The blackberry storm would of been the lemon law show child at that time but now a days with the cost of smartphones and some electronics the consumer needs protection in my opinion.

I wonder how much those SIM card ejection tools cost. I'm surprised they still have them in the box. LOL

That one makes sense on many phones, because they are now doubling up the SIM and SD card tray into one. It also has to come out if changing carriers. I found out the other day that the hole for the ejection tool on my phone is too small for paperclips.

That's an interesting question. I bought a few from Amazon. And I keep one on my keychain, it's been there for yrs. It's convenient, I don't have to go looking for one through my older phone boxes if I change SD Card or something. I didn't even use the one that comes with the phone. But I'm sure they keep it there for the people who are not frequent upgraders and don't have one sitting around somewhere.

Don't forget they removed the screen protector also.

I'm sending mine back.

The seamlessly-fitted factory screen protector on my Note10 Plus and S20 Ultra is a nice, subtle touch. I was a little disheartened to 'note' its absence on the Note20 Ultra but perhaps it's because Samsung has such faith in the so-called Victus Glass. We'll see.

The tips and removal tool are important because, depending on the screen protector you're using, you will need to change it out. For glad surfaces, the Banco one is best. And for film that is somewhat tacky, the grey one has alot less drag.

Threads like this are good, for discussion, but as an end-all-be-all, it's an opinion more than anything.

I came from a 256GB Note 10+ to the Note 20 Ultra 512RG.

I won't claim this is the perfect phone, it's not. There are some things that were in the CONS list when deciding to upgrade, but for ME, the Pro's out did the Cons so I decided to buy it.

However, I bought this KNOWING that this will be the last big phone purchase for several years. With the promise of 3 Android Version Upgrades from Samsung, it was enough for me to jump to it and decide to keep it.

Everyone has their reasons for buying or not buying, but only they can decide what's worth it or not.

I am glad you pointed out these things, but I skipped the S20* line so most of these comparisons don't apply to me anyway. :)

Not if you use a small paperclip...LOL

Aside from some of the downgrades already mentioned, quite a few potential buyers are turned off regarding color choices of the Ultra.

Personally, I wanted a White one, but I decided that 512GB of internal storage was more important, so I was stuck with Black. However, I could always DBrand it or something similar if I REALLY want that white.

They could have at least applied the factory screen protector the 20s like they did on the 10s. That screen protector was great, barely notice it's there and still have it on my 10+. I also don't like how you're forced into black if you wanted the higher memory. Mystic Bronze is also kind of yucky being the only unique color for Ultra. Those and other reasons make me not want to fork over another $300 or so than what I paid for my 10+.

Are you sure? Look on the underside of the top box/lid... Mine they squeezed a box on the underside of the top that includes paperwork as well as the sim tool.

That’s one thing that annoys the living[Mod redacted] out of me with Sʌᴍsᴜɴɢ.

Make all colors available across the board. It’s not that hard and something  has done since they introduced different colors. None of this region exclusive BS or storage restrictions. Just stupid.

/ End rant LOL. Also a major factor into me not even wanting to consider a Sʌᴍsᴜɴɢ phone. I really liked that Mystic Green but no it’s only available on the Note 20.

Traded in my note 9 directly to Samsung and got my note 20 unlocked for $450 (with no contract) plus $100 off on Galaxy Watch 3 - I feel like I got a great deal myself...
