Samsung ripped Note 20 buyers off in 2020...

You paid $350 more than you did for the Note 10+ last year. Why? Because of 5G which 99.9% of the people don't benefit from. It sucks. Last year we had an option but this year we don't. The extremely high cost of 5G is being forced upon us. That's why Samsung cut the storage from 256gb to 128gb. Now we're paying for 512gb which most of us don't need because we have memory cards. I have 1 TB. 256gb was the sweet spit. So we're paying a lot for things we don't need instead of getting more beneficial and useful features. I'd of rather had the 5000mAh battery the S20 Ultra got than 5G.
5G does not add 350 to the price of the device.

More than 0.01% benefit from 5G. Every T-Mobile customer gets 5G wherever they get 4G LTE signal. Both run on the 600MHz spectrum. Verizon has 5G in many large cities and later this year, they'll be turning on the lower spectrum 5G like T-Mobile has. AT&T has 5G in many large cities.

C'mon, man.

Just because you're getting T-Mobiles 5G does not mean you're benefitting. The difference between the Tmobile 5G and 4G LTE is nada!!!

C'mon man

Let's see, the materials costs for the S10+ is $420. Retail is $1,000. Retail is 138% more than cost
https://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-galaxy-s10-plus-build-cost-961928/

The X55 5G modem costs $130. 138% markup is $310. Close enough. Samsung cut the storage to offset the significant cost of 5G. Phone makers are going to an extreme. Case in point, Apple will not include chargers and reduce the battery size to make up for this 5G cost increase. 5G hardware costs hurt everybody in 2020. Manufacturers sold fewer phones. Customers paid more and got less value. Why are Manufacturers pushing 5G at the expense of sales and profits beats me. I just wish we had an option like we did in 2019. Ironically, we'd probably have better phones if we did.

Atleast Google said no to the X55 this year with the Pixel. Good job Google. I predict Pixel sales will be up this year because of this decision.

You still didn't demonstrate paying 350 more than the Note 10+ last year for this year's Note 20 Ultra. You also mention less memory to defend your statement, yet conveniently leave out the redesigned camera, upgraded Spen and upgraded screen.

I agree 1000%!
But with the current purchase promos for new devices I'm getting a pair of buds live free.
I transferred my 1TB micro SD card and it works awesome for extra storage. It did erk me that the ultra does not support 45w charging tho!
I feel Samsung ripped us off this year with all the cost cutting and downgrades.

Let's see what they removed or downgraded. I'm referencing the Note 20 Ultra.

-Major downgrade from 256gb to 128gb
-Big downgrade in charging speed from 45w to 25w
-Big downgrade in the front camera from 40mp to 10mp
-Big downgrade in extra memory when you buy the extra storage. 12gb instead of 16gb that you got with the Note 10 and S20 Ultra
-Removal of the factory installed screen protecter

Not so important but other cost cuts
-no AKG headphones
-No S pen tip removal tool
-No S pen tip replacements

Don't get me wrong, the Note 20 Ultra is the best phone in the world but with so several downgrades & cost cuts along with the biggest price increase in Note history, I feel we were all sheep this year like our iPhone friends. Samsung is testing the limits in how much they can charge us along with cost cuts. This reminds me of 2015 with the Note 5 when so many features were removed. That was the only Note since the Note II I didn't own.

I'm sure a lot of this has to do with Qualcomm forcing Samsung to buy 2 chips because of the 5G which really doesn't make sense since the mid-level chips have modem and CPU on 1 chip. As one of the biggest phone manufacturers in the world Samsung shouldn't have let Qualcomm do this.

I feel like Samsung ripped us off in 2020. We're sheep this year but I'm optimistic that 2021 will be much better with a 5nm SOC Snapdragon

Note to Samsung. Keep your free accessories and put that money into a phone with specs to the max.

I got this phone for $1000 off with trade in AND I’m an iPhone lover so I could care less. I love this phone! I will love the Fold 2 and I will love two iPhone 12s!!

Samsung and Apple are big enough to do what 800 pound gorillas do, throw their weight around and see what people are willing to pay for a phone with their name on it. The spec's are almost irrelevant as most owners have stated on here.... it's about how much people are willing to spend to have the newest and shiniest Samsung or Apple offering.

I'm not bashing anybody's choices at all, everyone has the right to spend their hard earned money any way they want. But that approach will send definite messages to companies, so you can't buy the products then complain about the skyrocketing prices and corners being cut ;-)

Still can access it. And the 5G on T-Mobile is most definitely faster than T-Mobile 4G.

C'mon.

If you upgrade the motor in your car so it has the ability to go faster, but you still drive the speed limit and arrive at your destination in the same amount of time, have you benefited from the upgrade? No. It's the same with switching to 5G right now. Technically better, and practically better, are two different things.

I have to agree with the TMO 5G in my areas it very nice to have I can watch movies with the 5G before they kept buffering everytime.

The new note 20 Ultra 5G universal unlocked, is a great phone.
If you watched the 2 hr introduction, you could see what all the phone can do.
It has a 5300 ah battery..SD card.
108mp camera.

This is why I wish the smart phones would start at 2000.00 and go up.
So there won't be as many people who got a phone that they think is hot and flashy.
And be unhappy because they bought it..

Did you pre order to get those buds live for free?

False analogy. According to speedtest, the 5G on T-Mo is faster than the 4G on T-Mo. That's just fact.

You can take the upgraded car to the race track or put it on a dyno to witness that extra performance, but it still gets you from point A to point B on the streets in the same amount of time. At best you save a few seconds of you gun it at traffic lights? It's nothing to write home about.

5G a spec for bragging rights and nothing else right now and the near future. You are conflating technical increases with practical real world experience.

This doesn't really bring any news apart from the copper and graphite heat spreader are pretty similar in performance. I think everyone knows the Snapdragon out performs the Exynos in all areas.
What it does bring is another opinion, more data and allows people to make an informed decision. That's what it's always about.

That’s one thing that annoys the living[Mod redacted] out of me with Sʌᴍsᴜɴɢ.

Make all colors available across the board. It’s not that hard and something  has done since they introduced different colors. None of this region exclusive BS or storage restrictions. Just stupid.

/ End rant LOL. Also a major factor into me not even wanting to consider a Sʌᴍsᴜɴɢ phone. I really liked that Mystic Green but no it’s only available on the Note 20.
