Samsung S-View Flip Cover is horrible.

You can also find $50 phones. Cost is relative.

True but that sacrifices functionality... A case? Not so much. Can find a cheaper case with same functionality so... Not really the same :).

You can find many good cases for way less than $70 though.

I have a nice case.. $27.

I like this, so if ever there is a cheaper case you are mentioning, I can justify my purchase because I like this case, not your case, or any other case

Doubtful as I guarantee mine is just as good :). The Samsung one is just overpriced.

Either way I wasn't insulting the guy as you all are taking it. I just was asking why spend so much... Answering with real answers versus "I may like it" would be helpful because... Then I'd maybe be like OH yeah makes sense versus just saying why you may like it... Even though the post is about him not liking it.

Sigh

There is no case with the same functionality. I do agree that $70 is a touch much, but I got mine for $45. The S view flip case was out of stock when I got my phone so I bought a cheap $14 fake S view case to use until I could get an original. The fake case was crappy quality, didn't activate the S view feature (so the window was useless) and it scratched my screen.

If you can find a flip case that works with S view (activates the phone to use the window and you can use the screen through the window), keeps the phone as thin as this case does and has the same incredible build quality for less that the $45 I paid, let me know. I'll buy a few colors.

I agree. I'm tempted to look at other cases, but this case simply works for me: very thin, good build quality, good protection, PLUS S-View.

I can think of phone cases that cost more and yet don't add any functionality at all, like DracoDesigns ($80 for Note 2 bumper case, none yet for Note 3), Vaja Cases etc. You pay the premium for materials and craftsmanship, and to some that can be very important.

The s view case is what sold me on being able to go to the size of the Note. I'm in an s4 now. The case let's me do the two things I need to do quickly - launch the camera and take pictures right from the window and scribble down a note. Two things I am always fumbling to do with multiple taps and swipes on the s4. The one thing mentioned here is that the led can't be seen - that bugs me, are there any apps that take advantage of the window to display text messages or notifications?

Ok guys first post from sunny UK lol

I love the case but my question to all of you is "what colour did you go with against what colour note 3?"

I have a black n3 with the wild orange case :)

Im not taking it as an insult. I just went researching for diff cases for my note 3 and I chose this. Thus, I like it more than any other cases I have seen.

Brando shop has a couple of selections of Note 3 view cases in many colors for $20 something only. I bought one for my previous Note before and am going to order one for my new Note 3. Case / Housing > Samsung Galaxy Note 3
I willing to bet that none of those cheap cases activate the S view feature, which makes the window a complete waste.

Mine displays text messages and notifications just fine.

I have the S-View cover and it's obvious that there is something electrical about the back. It really seems like it has the ability to to do wireless charging unless all of that is simply NFC. Does anyone else's have the obvious electronics?

the prongs on the cover are so the s-view front works correctly when the case is closed. they do have wireless sview covers though

How can you prolong the screen exposure when the s view cover is closed? It looks like it's on for just 5 seconds then the screen shuts off.

I have the case and my biggest complaint about it is the lack of Protection to the metal bumper area of the phone
